Here is why:
It's honestly not horrible, but LSU baseball fans are traditionalists by nature, and they would HATE this.
Alternatively, the all white lids aren't too bad:

LSU official color is old gold but apparently they can’t access that color on any sports uniforms so yellow has been used. Some say it’s not yellow but it’s certainly not old gold.
