21-0, 92 yards of offense. I would take the loss on 11/5 anyday instead of that beatdown we got in nola.

LSU virtually played 5 BCS caliber Bowl games last season.

Oregon #3
Arkansas #3
SEC Championship vs Georgia #12 (In Georgia Dome)
Alabama #2 Nov 5th
Alabama #2 Jan 9th

We went 4-1 in those games and lost the one for the trophy. Never kid yourself about this being one of the greatest teams in Tiger history, if not the greatest.

This is so fricking stupid. It wasn't a random, freak loss in overtime to teams to whom we were clearly superior (us to Arky and Kentucky in 07, Florida to Ole Miss in 08') and it wansn't a close, respectable loss to a worthy opponent (Bama to LSU this year)--all of those losses redeemed, by the way.

It was a skullfricking ceremony in the National Championship game.

We should quit discussing this bullshite. There is no redemption here. Ask any real fan if they'd prefer the ultimate outcomes of 03', 07', or 11' and see what follows. I'll take 12-2 with a MNC anyday of the week.

The bama fans that I know didn't even have the CFB fan courtesy to be obnoxious. They honestly seemed to pity us.

It's been almost a month. I could understand if you lost a family member that it might take a while to accept it for what it is. Hell, it took me 4 years to finally get over the loss of my father, but this was a fricking game.

True. And I promised to redefine my definition of "fan" after this game. It hurt like a motherfricker. Took a lot out of my step. There are hype songs and albums that I associated with this season that would instantly kill a boner right now.

That's why I don't discuss it and have avoided the rant.

But the sunshine pumping has to stop. People, all people, remember the finish more than anything else. You guys pretending otherwise obviously didn't watch that game.

ETA: Read my posting history. I was among the biggest "positigers", "Lesmilites", "JJ lovers", whatever.

That game was an embarrassment.

True, but what reason is there other than to make yourself feel better to say losing , excuse me getting embarrassed in the biggest game of the yr vs our biggest rival does not really matter, bc hey man...we won the previous 13 before that, so we'lljust use that as a mulligan.
Please.

Undefeated. A team wins the super bowl every year. A team does not go undefeated every year, only twice in the NFL so... what is the bigger accomplishment there?

It is harder to go undefeated in the NFL than to win a super bowl <------fact

They actually played that game this year. LSU went 14-0 in 2011.

LSU Football team went 401 days without a loss. FYI.

I understand and I know your history, we have agreed more times than not. I get the venting your frustrations and all but at what point do you (generalizing) let go. Talking about will not make it better. In fact in most cases it will make it worse.

We capped off "that it was just a loss" with the worse recruiting effort in 7 years according to most of the media outlets.

Of course it matters and it sucks arse but there is nothing any one can do about it now. If we could talk away the past I'd be right there with the rest of you.

Meh, I had fun during those 13 games. A lot more good memories than bad overall. I'm not saying that 13-0 should make up for getting raped, but let's not act like 13-0 didn't happen.

I've honestly done a good job of avoiding it. I got a lot of ribbing from colleagues the Wednesday that I returned (took Tuesday off because of the time zone difference), but shielded myself after that. I honestly haven't been to ESPN.com, yahoo sports, or anything since. I didn't follow recruiting until today, didn't track the senior bowls and all-star games, and didn't post on the rant, though I did some reading.

It's galling that people try to make last season something that it isn't. A great season that ends on an embarrassing note is nothing to brag about. It's like any great thing in life that ultimately turns to shite. We remember how it turned to shite, not all the good times leading up to the diastrous end.

Who do you think we would have gotten if we did win the NC? Certainly not LC, Edwards, and probably not Kiel. The recruiting class had very little to do with the NC, if anything at all IMO. And I don't think Torsh. would have come either. FWIW.

Learn to make an exact quote and recognize hyperbole. I was making a point. Heaven forbid I try to make a point one time while you repeat, ad nauseum "21-0, 92 yards".

quote:

worse recruiting effort

..and "OOHH NNNOOOO!!!" we got a recruiting class ranked between 8-12.

If you don't think there was some fall out from the title game, you are living in fantasy land.
