It’s hard to make too much considering the competition, but when you compare it to opening weekend last year the pitchers performed better. Chaffin had to be lifted after giving up 9 hits against New Mexico.
This year she’s able to go a full seven shutout innings against a P5 opponent.

Impressive with 5 different pitchers but Memphis is not a good team and were bad last year
Pitt is under a new coach and probably haven’t practiced outside much
Will know a lot more after tourney in Florida with upgraded competition
