5) Had 3 point shots when Pistol Pete was playing. Open up the court for his ball handling as much as the extra points he would have scored.

6) Had honest officials that weren't all from Tennessee when LSU "lost" in Knoxville in 1959.
Would have won the 2nd NC since they were decided in the regular season then. We would not have been forced to play Ole Miss again in Sugar !

7) Lucky 7 ...but it should be the top fantasy ,
what if !! If John David Crow had not been stolen off the LSU campus in Sept. 1954 by the Bear and if Dietzel had somebody like Emory Bellard as an OC to put in an early version of the wishbone offense , it would have stacked up
as such.

FB Jimmy Taylor led SEC in scoring 2 years , all American ,all Pro. Only running back to break Jim Brown's 9 year strangle hold on NFL rushing
title and it was by a fullback. Gave a certain RB/FB on last years team the advice of " not running out of bounds " ! Another Baton Rouge High guy. (Senior)

HB Johnny Robinson 1st of the bench and hard to believe with that group but probably the greatest
all-around athlete. Great hands , timming , future all-Pro . The 4th of 5 from Baton Rouge

Still not a bad backfield w/o JDC . But if Dietzel had gotten a great OC with that group and cut him loose ??? Remember LSU's defense was so good that we used to punt on 3rd & long !
