re: LSU Squat Numbers

Dalton Hilliard did 710 max! Per a fireman at my station that played with him at LSU! He also said that most of their lineman and he felt all lineman should be in the 600's. It's probably not their max's. I bet sets of 3 or 5!

i know barksdale squatted over 700 his junior year then did like 580 his senior year.
don't think they necessarilly go for it all on max day, since it's really not that important.

You must enjoy making yourself seem foolish. Either that or you suffer from severe overconfidence. I'd like to know what qualifies you to to know more about the CFB S&C than some of the best minds in CFB.
Are the Bamas, and Texas' of the world beating your door down to come spread your amazing S&C knowledge?
Because they certainly are banging down Moffit's.

I bet Moffitt torched their arse with a serious summer workout then made them MAX. A dead leg MAX so to speak.

Dreds, go find some squat numbers from other college football programs to show that we are falling behind due to Moffit's complacency.
Okay a very overt example....
quote:
When [Trent Richardson] arrived at Alabama in 2009, he squatted 610 pounds. Strength coaches wouldn't allow him to add more plates. "I don't know if we have enough guys to spot him," Jones joked.

Okay you can try to rationalize these poor results however you want. Why would Moffitt tear these guys down and make them max, and post the shitty results on the board for the whole world to see? That doesn't make any sense.
It's clear he is proud of these results. I don't know what planet he's living on I would be hiding such terrible results and definitely not posting them on the internet for all the SEC to see.

Dreads by your account 610 isn't good that's only 30 pounds more than mike and weights about that much more than him

610 is what the strength and conditioning coach stopped him at. That isn't even his 1RM.

I've seen some high school lift a thon squats get in the 650 ranges, its clear these aren't maxes.

Whatever the entire workout was, obviously squat was paid attention to. I like this kind of thing. Social media being used to motivate players that did NOT make the list. I bet the other guys will want to be recognized like that.
Did someone say we aren't up to date with weightlifting? Looks like Moffit is damn creative when it comes to motivation and pushing his guys to excel.

03-07 I wasn't on the team but like I said I've seen him work first hand

No one on this message board knows the circumstances of this workout. So logically, nothing can be said one way or another about Moffitt's twitpic.
However, Moffitt is unarguably one of the best S&C coaches in college football. This is a fact. Major programs wouldn't be trying to hire him every year if he was irrelevant.
