Cameron - you've been nothing other than exemplary in your tone and posts.
But the implications are greater than the Painted Posse.
Your post wasn't air-dropped into a vacuum. The context was defined by Vincent's statement. To suggest that the only reason someone would object to the Admin's action is because it censored a Christian symbol distorts the very concept of religious freedom and freedom of expression.
The Admin would be justified in censoring profanity, gang symbols, violent religions, violent histories, etc. All expressiona and religions aren't equal.
For them to censor out an already present and distinctly Christian symbol is to explicity express an anti-Christian view. In so doing the Admin is already conveying a religious message - the old law of statics.
We all have our world views, don't we?

LSU owns the picture. They can do what they want with it based on their view of what is in the best interest of the University.

And as long as Chicken allows I can post my dissent to what I think is in the "best interest of the University."

Yea we get that. The point is LSU went full retard when they chose that particular pic knowing they were gonna have to "edit" due to religious factors.....
If they were thinking, they would have avoided that all together. Like it or not it sends a message one way or the other
Instead of saying "we dont wanna show these guys because they are displaying a symbol of christianity", LSU said "lets show these guys and remove their symbol of christianity from them...." Thats where people are upset. LSU messed this up

ColeLSU - you're tracking right. Press to MECO!

Oh and for those of you who asked: We painted "DON'T GET TOO COCKY". We always paint something original. It usually consists of a witty phrase, opponent joke, player praise, Les quote, etc.
The LSU student section does not care about your G rated attempts at whimsical phrases. Or did the largely hammered drunk, "suck that Tiger dick, bitch" chanting group of thousands lead you to believe otherwise?

It's a cross, not a swastika. For the love of God. Literally.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this.
Not wanting to be affiliated with Christianity =/= Anti-Christianity.
There is a good chance that many of the LSU Administrators are Christians themselves. However, it's in the best interest of the university to not associate itself with any type of religion.

Then a different photo should have been chosen. What did they think would happen when they tampered with a religious image...
Its inevitable, somebody is gonna get pissed off.

I don't think I would have even noticed the crosses if they had not taken them out.

I agree with everything you are saying, but then how is having George Bush speaking at a graduation not considered associating itself politically yet leaving the cross in the picture is considered asscoaiting itslef with a religion?

What was the risk of choosing another photo??
This story is already on the Facebook feed.... I'm Christian and I understand LSU's point of view on this, but they shouldve never tried to mess with this. Theres no shortage of fan photos without religious images in them

I really think you are overestimating how much people care about this. The painted posse guy doesn't even seem to care that much.
