Good to hear, I try to help out the ex players and family to get items when I can.

Sometimes I have been gotten on too for doing this, but I feel its very important to keep LSU more of the family University it was when I was growing up than the all bussness one it has become today.

All those who help family and friends, do well in my eyes.

So thank you for helping.

Lora is much over looked in LSU history.

For the 1961 season, the White Team backfield was

QB - Jimmy Field
LH - Jerry Stovall
RH - Wendell Harris
FB - Earl Gros

For the Go Team, the backfield was

QB - Lynn Amedee
LH - Bo Campbell
RH - Roy Wilkins
FB - Charles Cranford

and on those occasions when the Bandits lined up on offense, the backfield was

QB - Dwight Robinson
LH - Tommy Neck
RH - Buddy Soefke
FB - Buddy Hamic

The 61 Tigers were a great team, believe Dietzel once said this was the best team he had coached.

Jerry Stovall / Alan Risher

Those two took a little trip to Florida in 1982 and left the home crowd stunned in disbelief. The best Marshall on the field that day was Leonard, not Wilber. One of my favorite games of all time.

I graduated in 1960 - I have forgotten when the substitution rules changed that stopped the advantage of the three team system.

Was it '63???

I loved the Bandits back then - They gave up a TD vs Duke in 58 or 59 and asked Dietzel if they could stay in on offense and get it back. He let them have the ball and they scored a TD. We were up by 40+ points at the time so Dietzel let them start the next quarter.

Yes he did. We had a few of us hardcore LSU football fans at Hooters last night. This same thing came up for discussion.

The west coast and midwest writers pretty much ignored Stovall or for that matter any of the great southern players that year.

I was an undergraduate off and on from 59 to 64 - I remember one game, maybe 60 or 61, where the opposing coach would punt (believe on first down once) whenever the Bandits came into the game. Bandits would run a couple of offensive plays and then punt back to them - usually put the other team in worse field position.
