Mark Emmert. Someone asked the question who would the fans hire to replace Miles? The question should be who would the (good old boys) hire to replace Miles? They hired Miles because he is the opposite of Saban. Emmert gave Saban an open check book to carry out his vision for building the program. The (good old boys) were missing out on the usual (lining of the pockets) so if for some reason they felt they HAD to make a change he would be Like Miles, not Saban. They will need to be able to pull the strings with the new coach just like the present coach.

Great stuff, Paul. Now how about fleshing it out with some verifyable facts and figures. I know you have them because you would never post something that you can't back up.

Did Emmert do the same thing for Washington? Was he even there when they hired Sarkisian? Have their facilities improved dramatically?

I don't think "or" belongs here. Even most of the Bama alumni I know will even admit that it works to Saban's advantage to have Emmert in the NCAA President's chair. Saban has some "techniques" when it comes to recruiting, and Emmert doesn't seem to mind.

Emmert was a huge loss for LSU, but not that big a deal for the football program. People forget that Mark hired Tyrone Willingham at Washington

They didn't hire Miles because he was the opposite of Saban. Why would they do that, we didn't run Saban out of town, he got an opportunity to coach in the NFL. The other candidates were petrino and Jack Del Rio who are both very different from Miles.

I think Emmert was a very knowledgeable president and was a definite loss, but Saban is the difference maker... Would love to have either one back.

What does this mean exactly? (in terms of when they hired Miles)

Miles is the 7th highest paid coach in CFB. The good ole boys have opened their pockets pretty well I'd say.

Who is "they" and what "strings" are they pulling with Miles?

Thanks
