I really only think old people consider Ole Miss to be LSU's chief rival.

LaCour you may be right. We lived thru the rival years and cursing them out each and every week

For the younger generation of Tiger fans, such as myself, Ole Miss is simply not that much of a rival I must admit. They definitely don't match Bama, Florida, and Auburn as far as rivalries go IMO. I know it's different for the older generation, but it's about the 5th or 6th biggest game on the schedule for me.

yes. when i was growing up, AT MOST we'd be on TV 1-2 times/year, sometimes the second time was a bowl game.

tv schedule was published before the season started. there was one game on Saturdays, period. when hee haw came on, i felt like it was monday morning.

I literally get chills when I hear it. It's been said that the band will be allowed to play it again in two years. (It was banned because the students were chanting "The South Will Rise Again" at the end of it. We'll see; I'm not holding my breath.

I can relate to the LSU – Ole Miss games of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Back then we were both full of piss and vinegar and very exciting.

Now we both are not quite the same, if you get my drift.

It's unbearable even when LSU is winning.

It should be, although Ole Miss doesn't always have a great record they have given LSU a lot of trouble. Including winning the last 2.

Here's a good version of Slow Dixie, including the reason the soft leftists banned it:
