Don't see much change there and don't see where change is necessary. LSU will continue to play smashmouth football. Florida's run defense has allowed over 100 yards rushing each game except for one: Tennessee. I don't see Bowling Green, TX A&M nor Kentucky near LSU's ability to rush the ball.

I don't see the depth on Florida's defense to keep taking a pounding.

Big difference - Driskell is getting very comfortable as a SEC qb. i've watched their games. the offense is getting confident in him and making plays.

Again, what defenses has he played against. He did ok vs TX A&M but that was the Aggies first game of the season. Its warm-up game with LATech was cancelled due to a hurricane. It was still a close game regardless. The Aggies defense cause him to go to short passes.

Now, can Gillisless make up the difference? Can he handle getting the ball 20+ times (only did that once this season vs Bowling Green) and being pounded on over and over?

UF has played 3 SEC games - LSU 1, although it was a good hard-fought game. All our wide receivers and our qb have little experience as starters and guys who are expected to carry the load. you could see that they were affected by the pressure in the Auburn game.
Big question - was the auburn game enough to get them to settle down and use their talents? they will be better, for sure.

Again, they got the Aggies on its first game and it was that close.

Tenn defense is lacking.

Kentucky football is kentucky football with a small "k."

The defense will do their job, but i don't think we can rely on them to pull out the win like they did against Auburn. The O will have to pull their weight.

We did last year. It worked. Seasons are similar so far.

This team is not as good as last year at this time, but has the potential to be much better than last year's team. IMHO.

Difference is confidence. Beating Oregon to open was huge. WVA only added to the fire.

Florida game will be MUCH like WVA game. Win it and the ball really starts to roll.

Similar hostile environments. Much better match-up for LSU.

UK is crap (being in the SEC doesn't make it a quality team automatically)

UT/AU were equal in terms of divisional rival games where intensity is higher than what rankings dictate.

Aggies >> Washington - this is the only area where Florida has experience in playing a better opponent. On the flip side LSU throttled the Husky Offense - so that is worth something.

Why not? Not that I think that the O won't do its job but I think the AU scare has made people regress in terms of even reasonable expectations.

Do you think AU is better than UT? I don't think they are. I think UT's offense will suprise some people, but their Defense is horrid.

LSU played two completely shitty teams, one shitty pac 12 team, and a very very down Auburn team. Alabama scored 52 points in their SEC opener and LSU scored 12...Bamas offense must be 4x better. Stupid logic.

You're right.

Florida's gonna kill us. Bama too.

Hell- we won't win another game.

Or, maybe we will.

No I said that UT vs Florida and AU vs LSU were equal in terms of intensity of the game/hate/rivalry.

I do think that UT vs AU could be a tossup if played after this week but the home team would have a huge advantage.

Yeah I understood what you were saying and agree, I just think the talent level UF's defense played in that game was superior to that of any game LSU has faced. Completely different style than LSU runs but I think the experience the UF secondary got from playing that receiving group will go a long way. Pardon me for not being very familiar with the LSU receivers, but how do they compare?

I agree that UT has a better passing but I might give the edge to auburn's running game. I think LSU playing UDub helped because they faced a good QB and passing first team.

I am really not too bothered about the secondary because they seem to be improving a lot each game and are being ably helped by the Linebackers as well (which is a plus from last year).

Regarding receivers -
Odell Beckham is quite good as an athlete- but suffering from butterfingers this year.
Landry is really good and will continue to grow with the season.
Boone is a favorite of Mett but is 2nd string on the chart as of now.

But TBH as of now - they don't compare with the WR duo at Tennessee.

I would say Hunter and Patterson are currently better, more productive receivers than what LSU has exhibited, and that is with Hunter returning from ACL surgery last season after a great start and Patterson coming in as a JUCO with talent that multiple teams recruited. LSU guys have physical ability, but only OBJ has any real experience in the group from last season at receiver. IMO, the group is coming along slower than expected given the competition faced STD, but the flip could switch sooner than later. Well, that assumes the pass blocking improves, too.

With that said, UT lives and dies by its passing game, LSU doesn't. I thought UT would be better this season, but still seem to lack an SEC caliber run game and D is very spotty.
