The student section was garbage this year
It was an accurate representation of the "garbage" fans in the rest of the stadium as well.

Not really understanding what you are trying to say here, but bottomline, I think students should always have the right to tickets to a game played by students, over a non-student, or alumnus.

The students want to bitch about scoreboards, yet the students don't actually put a stake in getting better scoreboards, everyone else does.

amen,

This was a really bad year for every aspect of LSU football. I thought even the tailgates were lame.(result of 2:30 kickoffs most likely)

Is that supposed to offend me because I sit in general pop now? I am not the key to the fanbase getting excited, the student section is. I am going to stand and yell no matter where I sit, but it's expected from the student section. I don't expect granny to stand up and get loud on 1st and 10.

Is this the norm for college students? YOu just went from complaining about tuition hikes to talking about college kids and parents donating to TAF.

So the only passionate fans are the students? You seriously want me to believe that? Again, if I could type it a better way for you to understand I would. IF YOU WANTED TO GO TO A GAME THIS YEAR YOU COULD HAVE AND THE frickING SS STILL WASN'T FULL FOR THE TWO BIGGEST GAMES THIS YEAR

Maybe I'll dumb it down for you also..... but I can do it without shouting. No students....no school....no football program. Yes, while students should go to college first for an education, they should also experience other aspects of student life. No they didn't fill every square inch of their section for every game....big hint... the rest of Tiger Stadium wasn't full either. It's fine if no more seats are made available to the students, but why take away from the ones they do have.

What if the students have parents who are alumni and have been donating and going to games for years? They are just speaking out on behalf of their parents. There are plenty more non-students than students bitching about scoreboards. More students I talk to want to close in the SEZ so we can be louder and have more students in the NEZ.

all Law students/Health students/ and other organization students sit in the same sections around the greek reserved section
When was this changed. In 2003, the Law and Med school section was still 235 and 236.

I don't care if it offends you, the entire stadium looks like shite because of the actions of the fans this year.

You, and others like you, will have no valid room to complain about the student section making noise or stadium atmosphere if you support shrinking the section down, though.

To note, I'm not in favor of lowering the student allotment. I wish we could go back to when my parents were in school and fire codes were a non-issue and students could get in with a student ID. But unfortunately times have changed and not necessarily for the better. But I don't see the problem with taking away two sections that are always empty.

I dont' support taking tickets from them. But I don't see the benefit in keeping 235 and 236 student seating when nobody sits there. I think their location in regard to the student section is garbage and contributes to this. Kids would rather sit in the aisles than those sections. You feel removed over there.

If it were just those 2 sections I wouldn't care as much, but 3,000?? That's a huge chunk!

I don't know the numbers but I would gauge those sections would probably be close to 3k

The sections are empty, but are the tickets being used? Those are two entirely different things. If the students who would sit in those sections are cramming into the lower sections so that they're closer to the action, eliminating sections of student seating would then reduce the number of students who can get into the stadium.

This year is one year. Maybe the tickets were going unused altogether... the AD should have those numbers, since they scan tickets now. However, if tickets are taken away and the numbers of students are reduced, Tiger Stadium will lose yet another part of what makes it Tiger Stadium.

That's an argument I can support. I don't know the numbers. I think somehow consolidating the sections in that area would be a benefit but I don't know the numbers. In that article Alleva acted like the numbers constituted the cut, not the perception of some empty seats.

No they aren't. It wasn't even 100% full last year for UF.

I know for sure that in 2005, the Medical/Nursing school got general admission tickets like the undergrad students. Whether or not that was because of katrina, I don't know.
