I don't remember that. I remember Daddy Dale sending the pizza over but I don't remember that. I do remember him provoking the student section in the pre-game warm-ups . Man that crowd was amped.

this SHOULD be the oral history about this game.

this to me, would be like finding out that people were calling Hank Gathers a Nurga during the LMU game. does the game an injustice.

It sounds like you have a huge problem of who you are or where you came from. As the poster above mentioned, I've been to 4 different continents and roughly 20 countries and every time I've had a legit convo about Louisiana. They all think we live in a swamp and have boats that take us to school. Why would that bother me? It clearly is not the case, and I also respect many of the wonderful things about this state that make it such a joy to be around. I've been to the northwest, the northeast, all around the south, and besides swamp jokes, no one has a bad word to say. In fact, it's almost always ridiculously good things. Just because you're trying to push your political agenda doesn't make it right, just like you can't condemn those who oppose you.

Your mental laziness is only eclipsed by your apoplectic approach to this topic. I bet you are one of those insufferable dorks living in NY posting silly articles trashing your home state on facebook so as to gain acceptance/reassurance from your friends.

There are many reasons as to why the 3 "issues" you cite should not be embarrassing to you or me, but it's clear you don't have the cognitive wherewithal to be able to understand that.

apoplectic. that there''s one of them SAT words.

clearly, my cognitive wheel is just an exhausted little baby hamster who's just plum tuckered out from all this trying to keep up with you.

and clearly, an individual can't possibly be embarrassed by an association to a group or person, while also nor being embarrassed for themselves personally. say like if you were charles manson's nephew. or maybe if your country committed a genocide. or if a company you worked for, ripped off and cheated people.

that would be insane.

i have no political agenda. if you aren't a homophobe, then this isn't for you. if you think it was stupid of them to do, this isn't for you, and why are you arguing?

if you don't think it's the even hint of a black eye to a great school and great people, then good for you.

but there are people that exist. if you are not one of them, congratulations.

You have now compared a chant by students to another student to: the holocaust, Charles Manson's murders, a genocide, and a company stealing people's livelihoods. You should really be able to separate the situations.

have a good night all. funny conversation. haven't posted on this board in a long time and won't for a long time.

all in all, 10 out of 10. would call people "twats" again. smart people on this board. dumb people too. and if you don't know which you are, just wait a while. it'll switch from one to the other pretty quick.

fait des bonnes reves!

I have a gay cousin, I don't care about what anyone wants to do with their personal life. Just like I don't care if 20+ years ago and drunk 18-year old wanted call a player a homosexual. Most people who have gone to college, were in a student section, in a big game, with alcohol involved have yelled things many would find inappropriate. But you can't condemn it or fix it now. I highly doubt anyone really watched that tonight and thought different

philosophical argument 101: take the principle and illustrate it to the extreme. if it's true at the extreme, it's true at the part.

is it wrong to steal a ten from someone? is it wrong to steal a thousand? etc.

The words Gay or homo were culturally acceptable in a broad sense. Said like "weirdo" or "oddball" 75% of the time. I objected on two fronts; that it would make a gay person uncomfortable, and that it was just so uncreative. To be completely honest, I was way more offended that it was so freaking base and unimaginative, than I was that it was a slur against gays. Just so you know, a racist slur in 1990 would have been COMPLETELY verboten. Gay, was not. That is my humble opinion and personal memory of that era. I was certainly guilty of some thoughtless and largely unintentional gay-bashing in my HS years, stuff that I regret now. But never past like 11th grade or so. And even with my drunken frat-group that I went with to every game, that stuff was considered déclassé.

Nobody in the thread is arguing that the chant is okay or acceptable. Some have referenced that the same chant 23 years ago does not equal the same chant today.

I think most of those arguing with you are doing so because, quite frankly, you suck.
