I find this hard to believe bc there are a few on the recruiting board that say LSU doesn’t have the money to keep up, won’t spend the money needed to stay competitive and won’t pony up for the big name players.

You don’t sign top 5 classes without laying out big-time NIL money. Not anymore. We signed top 5-7 classes without laying last year and have a top 3 class this year with an outside shot to push up with a couple of key flip possibilities still out there.

People complain that we didn’t spend big NIL dollars in the portal, but that’s not because we couldn’t. This staff’s strategy has been made clear- focus on HS recruiting and retention and use the portal for a few adds. But we aren’t spending over market value for guys there. The money is being put toward HS recruiting and keep key guys here.

Brian Kelly himself said going forward beginning in 2025 our roster estimate would be 20-22 million per year.

That’s because the revenue sharing cap is $20-22 million per year (for now). Doesn’t really mean anything with respect to our current NIL situation.

The “LSU doesn’t have money to hang in the NIL era” nonsense is nonsense
