I’m not sure how you have Zavion Thomas ahead of Barion Brown or Nic Anderson by any objective measurement.

Not sure how you have Chris Hilton ahead of them to a lesser extent.

Here his lsu bio page lol. That had him 3rd most pass breakups last year … tied for most pass breakups in a returning sec player in 2025 . Think he tied with the kid from Texas .

PFF assigned him a coverage grade of 72 during the 2024 season—a mark placing him among the Top 10 cornerbacks in the SEC (source On3 )

Season Long (2024)

He has constantly gotten better each year . I’ll be here for when DJ Pickett starts over Ashton stamps so you can rub it in my face lol. I’ll be waiting. Remember what BK said about CB’s he loves CB’s who can constantly makes tackles outside . Now with that being said he also managed accumulate 51 tackles last year which ranks 3rd among sec CB’s ……

- Brown over Zavion
As an every down guy, for sure. I want Zavion to get looks everywhere, including RB. Too good with the ball in his hands in space. Brown is the better WR though.

- Pickett over Stamps

I don't know. I think your normal boundary corners will be Pickett and Stamps, with Delane playing nickel/safety.

- Haulcy over Gilbert

100p. Jardin Gilbert is not the starting single high safety on a championship team. I get that he was hurt last year (shoulder injury) but (1) that shouldn't materially impact his ability to cover and (2) he's always been a bad tackler. Would probably fit in better in the early 2000s where he could put on 20 lb and those lower the shoulder tackles were legal and worked.

Now, the 165 lb WR is just going to make you look stupid.

I think Keyes will end up with the bulk of the snaps over West Weeks
For sure. This is just day 1 stuff.

I do hope we get a 3 LB set towards the end of a blowout with Whit, West, and Zack. Would be a once in a lifetime thing, and someone like West, who basically sat out half the year last year even though he was healthy just so he could help the team by coming back in '25, deserves it. As does Whit for being a stud. As do their parents who were UGA grads and let them come to LSU

Is this an LSU released chart or OP? If LSU released, then BK has to, I mean absolutely has to, stop favoring players who have been here a long time and seniority, and just play the best damn players.
First of all, this is a fan made depth chart.

Second of all, it is day 1 of camp and 99% of teams/coaches have the vets running with the 1s on the first day of camp.

Third of all, Kelly, at no point in his tenure at LSU, has favored veteran players or seniority. People say this every year. People are wrong every year. We play the same, if not more freshman than every other contender in the country.

its not lsu. hes going by 20 minutes of practice the media was at ,plus spring tidbits.

they usually make the transfers earn it early. the best will start vs clemson. Payton will ,at worst,be on the field for every 3rd down. I think its pyburn and Payton with butler coming in to rush the passer sometimes. we will have fresh d line rotations.
nic anderson, hilton , and Aaron anderson will start with some barion brown and zavion Thomas in there some. we will have gadget plays for brown and he will be the guy on special teams.

I made the mistake of re-watching the Florida game this evening. Gilbert was manhandled all over the field. He was in the middle of pretty much every big play that Florida made. We are in trouble if he provides anyting more than depth in the secondary.

Speaking of the Florida game, we'd better hope Durham or Kaleb Jackson learn to pass block. Josh Williams was handling double-team blitzers every other play, many of whom whipped Mubenga.

The absence of any running back willing / able to pick up a blitz may be a major topic on this board during and after the Clemson game.

What has Pickett shown other than just having stars by his name to warrant just being handed a starting spot right now?

Whatever the coaches see in practice. He's been with the team for 8 months now. He was praised for performance in bowl practice, spring practice, and will likely be praised for his performance in fall practice.
