The 247 Indoor Practice video ( HIGHLIGHTS: LSU Day Two of Fall Camp) showed us the 2nd and 3rd String Defense.
• Apparently, Wingo and Smith were running together with the 1st string, but we could not observe which one of them moved from DT to NT.
• Javien Toviano was running with the 2nd string at Boundary Safety.
• Paris Shand was running with the 2nd string at DE, instead of DT.

There are no boundary DTs. It’s strong and weak side.

Also you have an Florida F next to West and OSU next to Jalen Lee

I see Harris, Welch, and Toviano taking over as starters at some point in the season.

you have all of the logos next to their names wrong. They're all LSU players

Ah, I see the mistake. I forgot to move the transfer team icons down one slot. I’ll fix it later.

I feel like Paris shand is more of an end anyway.

I like him to have a good year.

I would be disappointed if Quency Wiggins didn’t get a bunch of reps at DE this season, but if Shane is the better player right now, then you gotta play him.

Welch is also my last name, so I really want to see him break out and be a monster. But I can't find follows ups on how he's been doing. Hope he becomes a starter eventing though.

only position that could be better is jack imo, Ovie is good for depth but nothingi really behind him unless jaxon is the real deal

Saw an interview with Wingo at media days. He said sometimes the DTs swap positions to match up better with certain Olinemen. Also said something about using certain moves VS particular Olinemen. That's some serious film study there by someone.

Ovie has been a solid contributor for years. He is more than servicable at jack. Maason and Wingo will make the QB go to him. He won't have to be chasing the QB. Ovie is damn good at setting the edge.

That’s what is good about being “multiple” up front on D line. Players like Wingo, Masson, Shand, Wiggins can line up any spot on that entire d line depending on the other teams personnel and situation. The depth chart is also way less important on D line because there will be lots of rotation this year.

I don’t see what you gain by trying to specify the difference in positions by labeling (Boundary or Field). Simplify it say we have 2 DT, 2 CB, etc.

Smith & Wingo are our 2 starting DT wherever they line up.

Like the updates on Day 2 though

Love the starters but it doesn’t feel like we are very deep at LB

Want to bet we land two really good ones in the portal? I am telling y’all there will always be a talented player at a smaller school that figures they can be a day one or two pick if they prove it in the SEC. We will usually be the first school they look at.

You can align by any rules you want. Some DCs in an even front want a shade (1 tech) and a 3 tech to be the same guy so they will move around based on what the calls are. Others will have a left side right side and they can both line up as a shade or a 3. That’s an elementary explanation and you can evolve that into much more complex schemes

We shouldn’t have to fully rely on the portal for major positions every year especially year 3.
