frick you a-hole. I was actually thanking him for the info. I was criticizing what LSU released... not that the poster quoted LSU. The point is NOT that this is the first we heard from LSU, it's WHAT LSU HAD TO SAY.

STFU and Learn to read motherfricker.

No, you were being a smartass. The new information is that LSU actually met with them last week. No one said they released new info.

Again learn to read. The only smartass I was being was towards LSU for for releasing something we all knew for weeks. I even thanked the poster for the efforts. Did I need to type "Sincerely" after thanking him before you assholes would mean I was serious.

Get your head out of your rectum if you thought I was being smart towards anyone other than LSU.

ETA: Unless you consider my saying the poster translated German. Which you may have misread and thought I was calling the poster German... which I can assure you is not what I meant. I meant the poster translated something German from LSU.

But I'm sure you'll spin it.

Doesn't thousands of dollars seem like alit to pay for video? A rivals subscription will get you video on a prospect. Also, if high school and junior college coaches are there to help the student athlete get into a 4 yr college on scholarship, wouldn't they be more than happy to provide their game film and statistics?

LSU requested the info, but when it's wrong they don't care?

Something isn't right.

Chill out. $6k is just market value. Every school uses these services. It's impossible to see every high school kid across the country.

Here is what the San Jose Mercury News wrote up about Cal, which is essentially in the same boat as LSU:

quote:

*** I’ve spoken to several compliance officers about whether Lyles could be classified as a Cal booster given that it paid him $5,000 and that he accompanied Lache Seastrunk on an official visit. As one source said, “The NCAA could turn a ham sandwich into a booster.” The consensus is that if Cal has its documents in order, it will be difficult for the NCAA to classify Lyles as a Cal booster — the school would have paid for a service that was available to other schools.

Agreed. As I already stated, I'm sure the videos are much better quality than what you would see on you tube and rivals, scout, etc... and probably consisted of hours of video on each kid they had interest in... not just 2 minutes.

This is apparently the going rate and very "normal" from what we've been reading here on the rant. Everyone is allowed to do this. This is not a big deal. The big deal we are linked with Lyles about is that he accompanied a couple recruits to the stadium.

Honestly, if Oregon doesn't frick up the NCAA wouldn't have even batted an eye. All the more reason to dismantle them Labor Day weekend.

Here's a good summary of where LSU stands, from 4 months ago

LINK

Basically, LSU - like many other schools - has a history of dealing with Lyles. If they can show evidence they bought something of value from him, they'll be fine. They've done that, so they'll be fine.

Don't people pay a thousand dollars for a wedding videographer? And thats what... a couple hours?

I havn't seen the LSU video but I'm sure its pretty long... maybe includes EVERY play of Mett at the Community College. Dozens of hours on each player I'd bet.

Keep in mind, these are not crappy little home videos on you tube, or crappy 30 second videos on rivals. And I'm sure they are the property of Lyles. Meaning he or an employee filmed them himself.... not downloaded himself off the internet.

Don't know if anyone has tried to see videos of Metts CC team play, but they are horrible. NOT what Lyles provided I'm sure.

I was as skeptical as anyone at first about Lyles' connections to LSU. But, after spending a few months on the story, it's pretty clear LSU hasn't broken any NCAA rules. In fact, they've been extremely complaint about the whole thing.

I'd say it's akin to having been a customer of a pharmacist for a long time who sold you legit drugs in a legal fashion. Then, said pharmacist gets busted for dealing HGH or steroids illegally. You are under suspicion for your association, but just because you dealt with the guy doesn't mean you did anything wrong.

LSU spent about 100K on recruiting services last year. So, Lyles' company is about 6 percent of that, which "delivered" Randle and "lost" a handful of better talent. The circumstantial evidence favors LSU when it's all said and done.

(not a response to you, just an additional comment)

I'm in the wrong business. I need to fly around the country and film kids playing the game I love.
