They made a team from Baton Rouge travel to bring Stony Brook here to play in primetime. If you don’t think ESPN played a part in that, you’re crazy.
Ask yourself this: if Southern stayed here, do you think ESPN would force LSU to play the late game? Would this series even be on a broadcast network or would it be banished to ESPN3?

The Southern coach was openly lobbying the NCAA to not send them to BR. Stony Brook is a small school on Long Island this won't be a blip on the radar in NYC. If it were St. John's there may be a little more weight to the this is a set up for ratings argument.
