lord... this whole thread went over your head didn't it?

they lost to an unranked team when they were ranked as the #1 team

all they had to do was beat an unranked team at home, and they secure their spot in the national championship game.

it took pitt beating WVU to get LSU in the game

This is what a sane person would think.

Lonnie, what were your feelings walking out of tiger stadiun after the arky game? Just because we got a 3rd chance doesn't mean we choked the 1st two

When you say "LSU choked in 2007", you are, to me, inferring the season. If that was not your intent, you should have said LSU "choked" in the Hog and Wildcat games of 07.

The 07 season on its own can't be a choke job cause you can't "choke" a season when you win a NC in said season.

Whether certain games within that season were choked can be debated I suppose if we have nothing better to do.

Pretty sure in order for that to happen, we'd need water, metal, a living receiver, manipulated dead and living, oblivion, the artifact.....give it a rest, the season wasn't a choke, get over it.

You're right because now Les Miles is known as the coach on the hot seat who can't manage the clock. Before that LSU was the first two-loss BCS Champ.

We can all drive ourselves crazy with the ifs and doing so doesn't change one anything...right? So, why do it?

I'll take the NC and say thank you very much to the LSU football team and others may do as they wish.

we're just discussing a topic

of course i'm happy that LSU won a NC in 2007

but they were also the luckiest team in the country at the end of the year

the doc needs as many ranturds as possible to keep this board as negative as it is.
there are lots more turds like the doc who are sooo damaged mentally (probably by childhood abuse by their mothers and fathers or both) that they have to find like crazies.

misery loves company.

check the game stats on the UA v LSU game in 2007...the 3 OT game....and I think you'll find that LSU was flat out lucky to have even been close in that game....only Houston Dale Nutt's inferior coaching kept LSU in the game

They were also a every good team which was pointed out by the fact they were 5-0 vs. Top 15 team in 07. None of the other Top 6 or so teams had anything close to that record.

Nothing wrong with being both good and lucky. Hard to win the NC without your fair share of luck. imo

1. Some are discussing. You're butchering.

2. You're not happy about it. That's pretty obvious

its called the sec where every week you will play someone capable of betting you. look at how many close calls bama had this year. thats just prime example that everyonce in awhile you need things to go your way and for the other team to have a screwup to go undefeated

Jdrumdog, you certainly haven't discussed the topic at all. You just ignore the question and call everyone else negative. There is nothing wrong with calling something what it is. The losses to uk and arkansas were due to terrible coaching. We choked in both of those games. We were lucky that there were no great teams in 2007, unlike 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Also, the SEC was down in 2007 from 2006. Arkansas was an average team who played bad defense in 2007.

I also find it funny that Les refuses to run a formation that his teams have never able to stop.

Of course there are going to be close games, but the #1 team in the country is expected to pull those out and make great plays.

Bama, however, won every game they played last year.

But the loss to Arky was inexcusable. It wasn't as if they played out their arse or anything. We just flat sucked with everything on the line.
i'll never understand why flynn played the whole game. he was ineffective & injured, & a n.c. on the line, with a healthy r.p. on the bench

Every team that has won the BCS had some "luck" on their side

When LSU won the NC in 2003, we backed into the Championship game when West Virginia got upset and Notre Dame got hammered on the last weekend of the 2003 season. LSU was 3rd in the BCS standing and jumped USC to finish .16 ahead of then ranked BCS #2 USC. If it wasn't for luck we wouldn't have played for the 2003 NC. The AP awarded USC the 2003 National Championship. West Virginia was favored by 28 points. Notre dame got hammered 38-12 by Syracuse. Talk about luck.
