Questions are the Derenbecher and Dotson transfers TJ 's fault -they are surely missed. And is Turner's loss of himself, TJ's fault.

No idea on the first two. Dotson I think for injuries sake or whatever was not as good as TJ and staff thought he would be and I don't think it a negative in the grand scheme.

Derenbecker could have been a scorer for us by the time he was a junior an senior if we added some more talent. Despite his defensive deficiencies I'd have liked to have had him for then.

As for Turner, I firmly believe that motivation must come from within to truly realize potential and improve. I've seen enough of Turner playing well to realize he's much better than he's playing.

Did he not put in the time? Is it simply a crisis of confidence. Not sure but at this point I think Trent would be best served to try him off the bench. Can't worry about fragile egos at this point, it's costing us games.

If Hamilton had made some of those point blank shots he missed he would have had another six to ten points. Likewise Storm missed a bunch of bunnies that should have been made.

Yeah, tough to get on J-Ham too much but he really missed 3 chippies in the second half. As for post potion, I've noticed this too Tom, and it tends to lead to him at times taking 15-foot fall-aways. In fact IMHO that's an issue with all of our big men. Need to set the post lower.

Turner continues to be a mystery.
gave my opinion earlier. Time to sit him and give someone else a shot. Courtney is actually making shots. Try him and Turner off the bench.

Main questions: Why do we take so long to get into the game and play hard? Why can't Hamilton get good position on the low block?
It's been an issue all year save the Marquette game. This team really has trouble playing intense ball for 40 minutes. Handled the press better in the secon half of both the Bama and ARK games...why can't we do it in the first half?

Why are we such a poor shooting team overall?
We don't have alot of great shooters but they are not as bad as this. My biggest consistent issue with Trent over his years here is that he IMHO does not hold his players accountable for poor shot selection. All teams take bad shots, but few take as many as ours with as little consequence.

I think he should do what he did with Storm when JOB was healthy. Start him (Turner) on the bench, and bring him in early. Let him look at what's going on, and then put him in.

You have four players than can score (Hickey, Stringer, Storm, Hamilton.)

I think some good defensive hustle energy from Isaac or even Ludwig for 2-3 minutes might help the team.

Re: Derenbecker.... I think he's a headcase. It'll be curious to see what he does for Dayton next year.

I agree Sheep,

True, can't count Turner until he does it more than once this year. Showed some good offense in the second half. They could not stop the Hamilton role to the basket. Hamilton even actually missed three chippies. But too many times, again we took bad, ill advised shots instead of going back to it.

He is a good defender, but a right now a liability on offense. He ain't scared to shoot anywhere, anytime. Problem is he ain't making many.

I think Courtney has earned more PT than he's getting. He ain't as good as Isaac defensively, but he's not bad and he's shown pretty consistently this year that he can shoot.
