I think waters ends up going pro. His buzz will be high by the end of the year, and all this new talent would hurt his numbers next year.

Not a chance, the dude is 5'9, he would have to be VERY dominant to go 1st round after his freshman year. As in, he would have to turn things up considerably over the next 2 months to be considered in the 1st round at his size.

Tyler Ulis left after his sophomore year which was VERY good and was still taken in the 2nd round.

1) I've seen Snart described as a combo guard. Can he shoot the 3 well or work in progress? He handle the ball well enough to play some point, allowing Sampson to play more SG & provide a few more min for Rachal?

Smart can play the 1 or 2, much like Mays, very similar size between the 2 as well. Smart is probably a similar ball handler to Mays, pretty good, not elite (like Waters for instance). Smart's biggest asset is his scoring ability. He's the new NBA type PG which isn't just focused on creating but scoring for your team. He can put up a lot pretty quickly. He also can play out of hand at times and will jack up bad shots, which this is what he will have to get under control here (Wade wont let that fly). He'll have some games where he drops 30 on <20 shots (good) then games he's drop 30 taking 30 shots (not good).

2) Both Days & Williams, assuming we get him, are slightly undersized at 4. Could either of them see any minutes @ the 3 or are they not quick enough defensively?

I wouldn't worry about E. Williams being about 6'7 220, the dude is a big time athlete, great leaper. He can defend other power forwards easily in college. Days is more an offensive specialist, great range and can knock down 3's. Williams can knock down 3's too, in fact he shot 50% this last season from 3 in AAU ball, but he doesn't like to take many of them (maybe 15% of his shots come from 3). As far as either playing the 3, not sure, I think Sampson will see the majority of minutes at the 3, and either Alexander or Rachal spelling him. Both those guys can handle the ball well enough, Alexander has range and rebounding ability, Rachal has good size and defensive ability. I think it would be fairly rare to see a combo of 3 of these guys on the floor at once (Bigby-Williams, E. Williams, Kiir, Days, Reid).

I think Waters is smarter than that. He'll come back for at least for next year and make a run. Nothing boosts your draft stock like a solid showing in the tourney a la Justice Winslow, Sam Dekker, Kemba Walker, Stephen Curry, Raymond Felton (or the fact that four tarheels, including Felton, got drafted in the first round that year they won the chip)

Sampson won't start.

PG Waters
SG Smart
SF by committee Rachael, Alexander, Sampson, Sims, Days.
PF Reid
C Bigby-Williams

This team will be loaded with talent and depth.

Can't wait until next fall in the PMAC!!!!

thunderbird1100 what are you basing that on..........?

If that roster was on campus right now he would absolutely not start.

He's a liability right now on the wing. No spring in his legs, no speed on his first step.

I'm hopeful that ankle gets better but as of today there are guys getting less minutes than Sampson that actually are playing at a higher level.
