I have seen several posts regarding LSU's record and how it compares to past years, and it is damn good, second to only 97's 33-5 record at this point in the season. But I think the most incredible statistic going is LSU's record in baseball thru the last 140 games. LSU is an incredible 114 - 26 in the last 140 games. Could you imagine a Major League team, and I only use that as a comparison cause they play that many and more in a season, starting off 114 - 26 thru their first 140 of 162 games. Jesus. And LSU has done that thru middle of SEC season in 08', and of course post season, and all of 09' and thru half of SEC season so far this year. In that time, we won 2 SEC tourney titles along with 2 SEC
West and 1 overall SEC title, been to 2 CWS's and won a National Title, and against SEC competition, we have gone 52 - 15. Absolutely and incredible run and time, period, in LSU Baseball! Awesome!

riiiiight. Cause I never go to, watch, listen to the LSU baseball games What I stated is a fact though. No, I can't imagine a MLB team doing it because it will never happen. The same reason NBA teams don't lose only 5 or 6 games a year or whatever Duke lost. Hell, the best NBA team of all time lost 10. I think the best modern day regular season MLB record is like almost 50 losses. There's just more parity among professional teams and colleges. There aren't nearly as many gimmes in the pro game.

Well no kidding about the parity in MLB, my point was just how good that record is, and I only used that since only in MLB do they play so many in a season. I will guarantee no other college team has anywhere near that good a record in their last 140 played. And for the "link" guy, we finished the 08 season on a 26-3 run after we won 23 in a row, we won 2 of 3 from Irvine, and went 1-2 in Omaha (Losing to UNC, beating Rice, and losing to UNC again), and then last year we went 56 - 17, and now this year 32-6. And as far as the SEC record, we won last 12 reg season games and all 4 SEC Tourney games for 16 straight SEC wins in 08', 20 - 10 SEC reg season and 5 - 1 SEC tourney last year, and 11 - 4 SEC so far this year, making LSU 52 - 15 vs SEC competition last 67 played. Pretty damn incredible, and SEC is best baseball conference year in and year out.

go ahead. I can already tell you what i said. I questioned leaving ross in against Auburn and said Dean needed to break out of his slump.

LSU's success over the past few years in baseball stands on its own. You dont have to compare it to the pros...it makes no sense...that's most likely all Elleshoe is saying.

precisely. they've been tremendous but it makes no sense to compare it to the pros. That's like saying "man the SG president has been doing well with the budget. Imagine if Bobby Jindal could figure it out like that!"

There was also that thread where you said you would trade all the CWS titles for one basketball title and tried to put the fallacy across that Baseball doesn't matter to the Athletic Administration when the fact of the matter baseball has been outdrawing basketball for years now.

I've never said that. Its obviously not true. Across the nation to athletic departments it doesn't matter like basketball does. Basketball, even at LSU, makes more money than baseball and thats a fact as well pimpin.

I'm not comparing it to the pros, just said could you imagine if a mlb team started off that well, and only used it cause only mlb baseball plays so many games in a year to reference it to. I just don't think all that many people really realize just how many games we have won and how few we have lost since that great 23 game winning streak back in 08' Just wanted to point it out, and how pretty damn incredible what Manieri and the boys have been doing is!

are you seriously questioning this? do you think the merchandise and concessions at the box make up for the huge part of basketball's tv deal?

Do you seriously think LSU gets the TV deal all to itself??? It's split up amongst all of the SEC, and exactly how many times was the basketball team on national TV this year? About 5 right?

Baseball team has already been on ESPNu twice(will make it a third time Friday) and then you have the potential super regional and CWS broadcasts.

so far I can't find your stats for baseball, but the basketball team makes over 6 million and profits just about 1.5 million.
