For the people who are not on here constantly and live across the country, like myself, can somebody give a non-bias, quick outlook on the Tigers this year?

Probably wont be as exciting of a team to watch. Team will grow as season goes on but at this point way too early to tell how far this team will go. The pitching will be there but team will go as far as bats are capable of going being that we replace 8 starters. Pitching will be dominant

good young position players though. Just not much experience. Hopefully by end of season playing great ball.

AndTheValleyShook.com has a great set of articles under 2016 LSU Baseball Season Preview if you are looking for good info on the team. It doesn't project the starting line-up exactly right since it was written a little earlier in the year, but it is pretty solid throughout. I honestly think they do a good job with their content in general but that's just my opinion. Here's the link:

We will probably have the most knowledgeable fans in the country again this year. Did you know that LSU baseball fans applaud great plays by the other team?

I wish we had a Zach Shields from UNC Wilmington or an Anfernee Grier from Auburn. Not even saying that in a provocative way. I wish more African American youth were interested in baseball. Vanderbilt always seems to have a great history of African-American ball players.

I can't remember any here since, J Mitch, Leon Landry, and Chad Jones.

Lyle Mouton was a great black LSU baseball player back in the day....but since Lyle came from a somewhat affluent family, Dale Brown once said when Lyle was playing basketball "Lyle is afraid to be black". So I am not sure if Lyle counts or not...

They're a top 10 baseball team but not top 3 in the conference. They'll be competitive but probably won't win the SEC regular season (UF or Vandy). 2nd or 3rd in the SEC would probably be a good accomplishment which ia still probably good enough to host a suoer regional.

Jake Fraley will be an All-American. The bats will be fine, I'm just worried about the fielding chemistry especially with all the turnover
