A high preseason ranking doesn't get an automatic seed to Omaha. There's this little thing called a regular season that comes first.

Correct! Butler did help Barb win a state championship. He also pitched a complete game shutout in a national championship game. A Perfect Game event in Fort Meyers. He has pitched some big games and so has some of the other freshmen like Sewald and Reynolds. Not to mention Newman and Devall.
The pitching staff should be very deep the next few years.
