I thought I did a pretty decent job of laying out the facts, IF in the event Arkansas wins against LSU. It's crazy to think it's impossible that Arky beats LSU.

That said, Arkansas has no chance of beating LSU.

I see no problem with starting threads of the theme "LSU is so good that even if we lose we still make the NC game"

What should we do? Start more JJ/Lee threads?

Yeah, regardless of if Arky has 5 or 6 dominating wins, LSU and Bama have both been significantly more "dominating" than Arkansas over the course of the season.

You did well there. BUT Its all irrelevant. LSU blows Arkie out of the water.

Oh I agree. LSU will beat Arkansas.

But IF BY SOME MIRACLE Arkansas pulls off the upset, I do want people to realize that Arkansas has to beat LSU just to tie.

Once all teams have identical records and beat one another, IMO the voters should take a step back and examine the entire resumes of all three teams.

That gives me a headache. Why can't we just beat Arky instead of juggling probabilities?

I agree with this..... However... You remember what happened in 2003/?? This game reminds me alot of what WILL happen Friday.

It should give Alabama (and especially Arkansas fans) a headache moreso than LSU fans.

It certainly appears that LSU on paper should still go to Atlanta in a 3-way tie scenario.

Matt, do you happen to have email addys for some of the prominent media members?

(like Stewart Mandel, Feldman, Herbie, Fowler, Dennis Dodd, Brando, etc)

Nah, I have emailed the computer guys before, but not media folks.

Are you going to email them these resume's? I actually think we need to be more sure Bama is ahead of Arky in the human polls than we are ahead of either. I am starting to get nervous that if things go badly in some games, Arky could close the gap so much in the computers on Bama (not us) that if they were ahead of Bama in the human polls, we get screwed.

well, if it ended up LSU-Arky-Bama....obviously Arkansas goes to the SECCG, but IMO I think it would be an LSU-Arkansas rematch in the BCSCG.

I actually think if Arkansas goes to Atlanta by some miracle, then LSU would be locked in to the BCSCG.

All that said, I find it highly highly unlikely that Arkansas would pass Bama in the human polls....

Vandy should have won that game vs Arkansas, no doubt. If they don't fumble and let Arky return it, Vandy wins that game, no doubt.

Yeah, I'd like to have the email "locked and loaded" just in case Arky beats LSU.

voters are going to have a difficult time ranking LSU-Arky-Bama....

That's what Matt has been saying...the human votes are likely to be spread out across the 3 teams. It may very well end up LSU 3rd in the human polls, but the votes will all be pretty close.....Thus the computers will likely be the determining factor.

Here's the catch. If the BCS standings are within 5 rankings of each other, it doesn't matter who is ranked above who and automatically reverts to the tie breaker of head to head between the top two.

With that caveat, you correctly listed the only two scenarios Arkansas can make the game.

It is already being assumed by myself and everyone else that the teams will all be within 5 spots of one another.

It is going to be head-to-head between the top two. That is a given. Meaning there are only six possible scenarios of how the rankings could play out.

If The Piggies get into the SECCG I'm officially going to stop watching football.
