There really has been an absence of great OTs at LSU during this span. I would just replace Black with McClure to round out the 5 guys deserving of All-Interior-O-Line over that time span.

If not, you have to go with Black or Brandon Winey or Marcus Price or Louis Williams or something, any of which would be a rather steep dropoff from the quality of Mawae, Peterman, Faneca, & Whitworth.

Who was the other OT from West Monroe that played the same time as Steve Perriman?

He was as good as a few of these other guys you are mentioning.

Do you mean Stephen Peterman?

Rodney Reed was an OT from West Monroe in the 1999 signing class: LINK.

EDIT: Apparently he was cut by the Dolphins around 2005 or so.

I forgot about Nate Livings fwiw. You could maybe put him as the #2 OT at LSU for the 21-year period in question.

One bad year where he played injured shouldn't change peoples opinion of him. He was a very good tackle before that.

He was a great freshman OT. He was out of shape by his sophomore year. It may have had more to do with bad knees than a lack of discipline w/r/t conditioning, but whatever the reason, his best season was as a freshman, and it was a steady decline the whole way after.

You've gotta feel bad for players like Ciron Black and Will Arnold, but the game can be cruel like that sometimes. You can't really put them on All-Decade teams based on game performance, in my opinion.

Yes, I guess my old brain could not remember his name.

He was a solid, though not spectacular, OT.

A little undersized but played with a lot of heart.

It was a real shame that LSU didn't have any decent OTs in the DiNardo era. That 1997 interior O-line with McClure and Faneca just steamrolled people with the running game (helped by Herb Tyler, Kevin Faulk, & Cecil Collins, & Rondell Mealey), but Al Jackson, Trey Langley, Louis Williams, & Brandon Winey were really sub-par. Williams & Winey were young and may have had some good talent, but they never really played up to it.

The OT-position was definitely the weak spot of the LSU offense in the DiNardo years.

Ciron should get way more fan love!!! 4 year anchor and passed up the bucks to play for the tigers and got hurt doing it and stayed classy the whole time, I believe he was 4 time all sec... Counting freshman team, hard to argue that when healthy he is def one of the greats, also if you don't know the Mikey story you should do some googling
