I don’t think the RPI is necessarily a great tool in assessing team strength, but the committee does lean on it heavily in its decision making. Their treatment of LSU was clearly inconsistent. RPI seemed to be the primary factor considered when seeding Florida and Arkansas ahead of Texas and Tennessee despite the differences in conference record, but suddenly LSU ended up seeded behind 4 teams with worse RPIs presumably based on conference record? And S Carolina is really only ahead of LSU based on head-to-head, but that didn’t seem to matter for LSU vs UCLA.

I'm starting to really hate Southeaatern.
McNeese softball had a great season; too bad the NCAA had their heads up their asses and missed it.

Yeah I have NO idea how a team that was #76 in the RPI flew under the committee's radar

Must've really sucked when the transfer from McNeese hit in the winning run for SLU to win the conference.
