A staple of LSU basketball. Only we used to have a few guys who could shoot well enough to get away with it.

Depending on which thread I have made this statement, I either get 50 upvotes, or 50 downvotes. I'm not sure what to make of that but, whatever the case, it would be nice if LSU ran some actual offense, especially with a big lead, once in a while

LSU is 10th of 14 teams in the SEC in 3 point attempts per game. In fact, they are taking the fewest 3 point attempts per game in SEC play they have ever taken under Wade. So it is not like they are just "jacking up 3's. They also (currently) are have the highest 3 FG% they have ever had in SEC play under Wade.

The 3 point attempts vs. MSU, particularly Days in the second half, were good looks. He just didn't make most of them. But those are shots you live with.

Wade has not hidden his views regarding shot selection. He's a big believer in analytics. And, according to the analytics, the 3 "good" shots are shots at the rim, FTs, and 3 point shots. Wade simply doesn't want a lot of mid-range shots.

Now, I agree LSU has a tendency to play way too fast with decent leads late in games (@ A&M was a great example of that). Especially for a team that turns the ball over like it is their job. But if you can get one of your better 3 point shooter a good look you live with him taking the shot. Days struggled from behind the line vs. MSU. But with LSU clinging to a 6 point lead with under 2:00 to go he buried a big 3 to stretch the lead back out to 9.

Days taking step back 3's off the dribble? No bueno. But if he's catching and shooting from the wings or, especially, the top of the arc, I'll take that shot every time.
