Do you think you can?

The Pac-10 is incredibly hard.

Whoever loses that game should commit collective self-immolation.

I agree 100%. Hardest conference in America to go undefeated in. I went back 30 years of seasons and fewer teams have gone undefeated in conference play in the PAC-10 than any other.

One of them WILL lose that game. And the AP doesn't matter. BCS is the champ.

True...the "great" teams always choke...ie...the USC Condoms last week!

You're definetly in the minority thinking the PAC-10 is the toughest conference.

We are not the toughest conference this year, that is clearly the Big-12. I ma saying that historically The PAC-10 is proves to be the toughest conference to go undefeated in.

At no point in this decade has the Pac 10 been anywhere close to the best conference.

But being the "best in your conference" is only semantics. The SECCG winner is not necessarily the best in the conference. LSU in 2001 wasn't.....
Same can be said of the NC game participants too, many years. It's all semantics, why ya think the NCAA won't touch it?

The reason no one goes undefeated in the pac 10 is because you're all a bunch of sissies.

FAIL

College football data warehouse had the PAC-10 rated #1 through his mathematical formula until last season for the entire decade. Right now the SEC is #1, slightly ahead of the PAC-10 for the current decade. His formula accounts for win%, SOS, NC's, and Big-4 bowl wins.

Also in 2000 the PAC-10 had 3 of the final AP top 7

I'm sure every college football expert in the country would agree with that.

11-6? Don't tell them the #7 team in the PAC beat our runner-up last year. Course, our conference divsion champs are jus semantics.

LSU loses to ALA and goes 11-1, ALA loses to Moo St and goes 11-1 and goes to the SEC Championship game. They lose to a 10-2 Georgia.
ALA 11-2
GA 11-2
LSU 11-1

Who goes to MNC?

I am saying decade rankings from 2000-present. Anyway the SEC is #1 right now, but up until 2006 it was the PAC-10.

In 2004, Auburn went undefeated in the toughest conference in the country.

I say save the discussion about who has and has had the best conference for another thread.

To the original poster I say the loser of the LSU/Bama game gets the sugar assuming that is their only loss and the winner of the seccg gets a spot in the mnc assuming they have only one loss. The loser of the lsu/bama game with one loss would be high enough in the final bcs poll. This is what happened in 2006 when florida crushed tosu and we crushed notrelame in the sugar, that was the best solution imho.

If the winner of the lsu/bama game loses to a 2 loss east team then the secg winner would get the sugar and the lsu/bama loser again assuming that is their only loss gets a bcs at large bid. The sec west winner now with 2 losses gets the best bowl outside of the bcs for a sec team which I think is the capital one???
