Not saying I wouldn't have wanted LSU to get a chance, but I would still think we wouldn't deserve it. There's a difference.

I agree. There is still a good chance the voters will intentionally vote Bama down and OSU up to avoid an all-SEC NCG. Especially if some of them take it upon themselves to excuse the ISU loss because of mitigating factors.

IMHO, if the BCS really was created to pit the top 2 teams against each other, how could it not be LSU-Bama? They sure look like the second best team to me this year.

I'm too young to know that. But in my lifetime, no one has come close to beating LSU in the dome.

the first I ever heard of a rematch for the MNC was Ohio v Michigan a few years ago or so.....and it didn't happen.

if LSu would have lost the game of the century I guess the fans might have wanted a rematch but I can honestly say the same media support would not be there.....like it is now and right after nov 5

Thisis bullshite logic and you know it. I would cry for one, the entire LSU fanbase would. Does that make it any more deserving?

Not to mention the fact they lost at home. THe way Alabama fans are actng like they NEVER EVEN GOT BEAT is something I have a huge problem with. How any LSU fan can be fine with the idea that our victory on Nov 5th means NOTHING should do some self searching.

Not scared of Bama. But I'm not thrilled at the prospect of splitting two games, 1-1, and not having anything to show for it. Makes no sense.

Also, just for the sake of argument: Bama has beaten 4 teams with winning records this year. They beat an Arkansas team that we just destroyed, and they beat a mediocre PSU team that Wisconsin just destroyed. No other quality wins.

Okie State has beaten 7 teams with winning records.

So what's more important: the fact that Bama's one loss is a lot better than OSU's? Or the fact that Okie State's resume blows Bama's out of the water?

Perhaps so, but Bama would have a stronger case for a rematch if they lost at LSU. LSU beating Bama at their house kinda took some of their argument for a rematch down.

How about losing at home to LSU and having beaten a good Arkansas team to show for it. Other then that, they've not done. A. SINGLE. THING.

A rematch takes that November 5th match up at THEIR stadium, you know...the game of the century, and just throws it out the damn window. IT gives Bama fans some bullshite sense of entitlement when they have ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING.

Its such a cop out, wuss arse, bullshite concept to have a rematch it's not even funny. It takes a team who failed in it's biggest moment and just dusts it under the rug for them to get another shot.

I would love to see Okie St. get a shot at it. BUT I would LOVE to see LSU put a beatdown on Bama to crush all the speculation that the better team DIDn'T win the Bama/ LSU game on Nov 5th.

You should win your conference to compete for the national title. And in this system without a playoff, it sucks for another one loss team to not get a chance when Bama had their chance at LSU at home and couldn't win. Bama is probably the second best team in the country, but I think OSU deserves a shot.

And for the people saying that the BCS system makes the regular meaning more meaningful, this year shows that its not always true. If the regular season really meant that much, then Bama wouldn't have a chance to play in the title game.

I hate that talk to. And Bama fans would cry about it for decades upon decades, but that is all it would be is talk. We'd have the trophy, we'd have the memories and WE WOULD HAVE THE W OVER THEM.

What do they have to show for that?

Fair enough, but not all winning teams are created equal. Bama's schedule is nothing compared to ours, but the Big XII is not all that hot this year, with a down Texas and a sputtering OU. Admittedly, I've only seen one our two Okie Lite games, but they just don't play any defense, and it's hard for me to say they're a better team than Bama.

Right, just like we we're going to crush Bama on November 5th? Search the post history of the forum from the middle of October to November 4th, and tell me how many threads you find that presaged a double digit LSU victory.

If anyone is going to win by double digits, it's going to be Bama. We'll be fat and happy coming off a conference championship, while Bama will have the revenge factor driving them all the way to January 9th.

And then the "greatest team ever", that went 13-1, beat 7 ranked opponents, and won the SEC will simply be forgotten, because the only thing anyone will remember about the 2011 season is that Alabama won the national championship.

Well since the game wasn't decided by a screwed up call by the refs Bama has noone to blame but themselves. Nick continuing to try long FG's when his kickers were having a bad day was Bama's own mistake.

Big 12 is stronger from top to bottom this season. Kansas St, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St are all good teams.

You know who is a better team than Bama?

LSU.

If these are the two best teams, then there is no need for a title game, because we have already beaten them.
