The punch was 100% bitch and Hill has been legally punished for that act. But I am completely amazed at how many people are so confident that Hill was not involved prior to his punch and that the "victim" was was walking away.

You've fought a good fight tonight defending your side. I don't think you're gonna change some of the opinions that are present in here.

I spend quite a bit of time there. What difference does that make?

I don't know what happened before, and all I can judge is by what's on the film.
The court seems to think what Hill did was a crime. Anything else is pure fantasy and speculation unless someone who was present can tell us any differently.

in fact i was in tigerland the night of the "fight," but i didn't see anything

The victim appears to get up off the ground and is wobbling. Hill approaches from behind and the side then punches the victim. He has no balls to do that. It was a sucker punch! Hill didn't go toe-to-toe and fight like a man.
Hill was already serving two years’ probation for a prior crime. Do you want someone not smart enough to recognize this is a violation of his probation to represent LSU? Do you want someone of this caliber to represent LSU? I don't. Yes it will cost LSU at some point this season, but cut him loose.
This is 3 years in a row that LSU football players have run into legal issues in the off-season. Les, get this under control and clean up your players!

And I agree 100%. And yes he NEEDS to show better judgement because the standard to which he is held is much higher than the average bar rat. But it's comical that everyone can cast stones and say how despicable this was without knowing the entire course of events that led to Hill throwing this punch.
Because I don't know all the facts, as a fan of the program I'll have to trust Les Miles to do his own fact checking along with the courts and make a decision that is best for LSU.

It happens everywhere. They can't be watched 24/7.

frick no he wasn't walking away. You can clearly see him walking toward the guy in the orange shirt. He even steps left when the orange shirt guy starts to step left. What Hill did was a bitch move, but not near as bad as most made it out to be originally.

and that the "victim" was was walking away.

The course of events goes like this.... Hill is out drinking at a bar late at night while he is on probation. He puts himself in whatever dumb shite that happens. It don't matter if they talked about his momma, used the n word or whatever. Hill is 100% at fault because he put himself in that position. At best he is a dumb arse.

Miles has lost control.
You know this shite happens at every fricking school right. At least our players didn't gangrape one of their girlfriends while she was drunk like the fine upstanding student athletes of Vanderbilt.

there is absolutely zero justification for a sucker punch like that. it doesn't matter what happened before.

Well, that's like, your opinion, man.
Hill's guilty plea is proof that he agrees that he was 100% at fault for what he did.

I already said it was a bitch move and the courts agree that he committed a crime. Fortunately that crime was only a misdemeanor.
