their only threat is Demps.

I think they have other threats than Demps, but is Demps 100%?

LSU must limit Fla's big plays, especially on the outside. That means LSU must tackle well.

LSU must find a way to move the ball on the ground. If we start chunking the ball too much, Fla will make us pay.

LSU and Fla are pretty evenly matched teams. Turnovers and big plays will probably determine who wins. And both teams are very capable of doing both.

I think we match up pretty well also.

quote:

I think Meyer is just cocky enough to kick it to Peterson at least a couple of times.
While this is true - they also have a pretty good coverage team. I think their speed is on par with ours.
quote:

I like our D-line against their o-line, especially with Pouncey struggling with his move from guard to center. I think Nevis gives him big troubles all night.
Very true! Nevis is just a nasty animal on that line - in fact I think he's better than the NG for Bama and they gave Pouncey fits all game long. If nothing else Nevis will occupy him enough to allow stunts from the DE and/or open blitzes for the LBs.
quote:

I think Lee plays at least half of the snaps and I think he can have some success spreading them out
I'd really like to see JL get more than just half the snaps. Even with the INT in the end zone at least they were moving the ball effectively when he was in. I loved seeing the bubble screens but he'll need to be careful with those against UF. And he provides more of a downfield threat as well.
quote:

As I said in another post, I think if we score at least 10-14 points, we will win because our defense will hold them under 250 yards and 14 10 points.
We'll need to score more than 10-14 pts to beat UF. I do see this being another close game. UF has a great defense but we're not too shabby ourselves.

Other points to consider -

**Don't count out Mathieu on blitzes - If he gets in the backfield and rattles Brantley early that will be open season for our DBs

**The usual - they may test PP once or twice but that's about it.

**X-Factor #1 - Spying Burton - should we or shouldn't we?

**X-Factor #2 - Watch out for the jump pass on short yardage and/or goal-line situations. It didn't work against Bama and it shouldn't work against us either.

I think you guys have an unrealistic view of how good that defense is
I don't think anyone has an "unrealistic" view of that defense. In fact, I'm seeing a lot of props being thrown around about how their defense in on par with ours.

LSU has played some of the worst offensive teams in the country
Florida hasn't exactly been burning it up either. Only team of note so far - Bama - and UF got thumped.
quote:

Unless Florida repeats their mistake filled performance from last week, they're going to score more than 10 points.
I don't see them repeating a lot of those mistakes...and yes, I do believe they will score more than 10; however, I do believe LSU will score more than that as well.

We certainly have to play efficient, clean football and I think we are capable of that when we are a focused team.
LSU needs to play mistake-proof football this week. At home in the Swamp, UF will make us pay for ints or fumbles lost, and for bonehead penalties. Efficient play to me means not too many 3 and outs because of bad play-calling. May depend on who is QBing? And could we maybe try a different offensive look, with Shep and wildcat formation actually being run and used effectively?

And they're ranked higher than UF so what's your point?

You also have to remember that having played LSU already, it lowers their offensive ranking.

Just like if you take out the 4th quarter of UNC we would actually be much higher in defensive rankings.
