Since I don't live within driving distance of Baton Rouge, at today's Spring Game:

* JJ played no differently than all of last season, couldn't quite get it done, looked confused, etc.

* JL looked pretty good except for *still* not being able to recognize the presence of defensive back, and threw a pick six (or at least an INT that gave the D great possession).

* The "D" gave up yards like crazy, not helping the offense with a good starting position.

* The OL still looked shaky.

And the failings in the game such as dropped passes, blown assignments, lack of player progress are all the responsibility of the players.

Right?

Happy to say that was not the case.

It looked like Lee had a better feel out there. He was going through his progressions way faster then JJ

I think the O-line looks great.. and no not bc of the D-line sucking. The O-line looks big and much more athletic this season.

all that was precise except the O-line. They could run block but not pass block.

They opened with a long drive running the ball. TD.

When they tried to pass Keke Mingo was in the backfield. Fast.

The commentators said the rules of engagement did not permit blitzes, but some guys blitzed anyway. whistles blow. sack is recorded.
another sack for Keke Mingo, fast.

Let me guess again:

You are posi-Miles or an ostrich (take your pick) for whom everything is great, no matter what actually happens on the field.

Why don't you try an objective reply instead of some juvenile snippy response?

Well if the OL looks great, that will help quite a bit, since OL play was one of the great problems of last year. To what do you attribute the improvement?

The game was on ESPN. Do you live within driving distance of a television?

yep, you pretty much nailed it. Looked like a replay of last season! The one positive is that hopefully it is one step closer to getting miles OUT.

Main thing is people are in sky is falling mode as always.

People also want to give Lee the starting job since he has looked like dog shite in about every game he has played in.

People need to chill the frick out. The team is going to be good.

Dead on about everything except.

The OL still looked shaky.

But Im not sure that wasnt because both D-line looked like swinging gates against the run..

Love the speed from the DE and think we will have more of a pass rush but out little DT's are going to get ran over by teams like Bama with a power running game.

The strength and condtioning coach needs to get to work on D line. They need to add some weight and quick. Area of concern for sure.

Linebackers didnt show up period.

Loston and Peterson look to great.

No consistency or leadership from either QB.
Looks like the same two QB's as last yr.

One good play to three bad plays...

Randle and Shep are going to help in the WR dept this year but they are young. They are going to make plays and screw up plays. Both are amazing talents but with no real QB, and them being so young and green, not sure it will be enough.

Ford and Ridley looked good. Ford has talent.
It will be interesting to see if they can carry this team and not get banged up through the SEC season because thats what they are going to have to do for this years team to even be in the running for the SEC West.

Players that did standout:

Loston
Randle
Sheppard
Ford

I see some improvement but I also still
see a 8-4 team.

Thing with Lee though today it looked like he is improving but JJ didn't look any different

So maybe the linebackers looked bad because the running backs did well? Or would you rather just say we're bad? The RBs broke tackles.

While the RBS did a great job no doubt, (as I said), the LBs were out of position alot and tried a good bit of arm tackling and not wrapping up. They didnt look up to par today.
