So Herman had no talent?
No excuses

They sure are. In a year and a half, Ed O has won 71% of his conference games....I don't know what Les did overall, but it was around 57% his last 3 1/2 years.
Ed needs to kick that up to around 75% to 80%.

So let me get this straight. I realize this thread is full of major negatigers and trolls. But, are you stating that Texas has not had those recruiting rankings? What did Herman go? 6-6 or 7-5?
Just curious?
Or, is it ok for others to have legitimate excuses?

Best thread in a long, LONG time. Absolutely hysterical.

Nope. It is very unlikely a 2 loss team will sniff a west title. Lucky saban had just arrived at bama that year.

Herman took over a program coming off three straight losing seasons. Orgeron took over a program coming off 17 straight 8 win seasons.

So none of y'all will answer the questions. 247 has it wrong? Texas didn't really have those classes I assume. Fk, what do I know, probably read the basketball rankings.
More likely, I assume Herman has excuses for the poor showing in 2017. After all, he is a process winner, so he gets a pass.

Without googling it, im going to assume they did, sure.

6-6, won their bowl to finish 7-6.

1. Those rankings are clearly lower than LSU’s the last 3 years by a good margin. What point are you proving here?
2. Texas hadn’t been to a bowl since 2014.
3. Herman wasn’t the worst head coach in his previous school’s history, so he gets this thing called the benefit of the doubt.
4. I never said Texas had a great or even good season last year. But he is young, energetic and clearly has them moving forward.

But that hasn't been what we have been debating. We have been debating recruiting rankings and lsu came out #7, and that sparked all the no excuses remarks.
I guess the talent at Texas is measured differently than at lsu.

#10 and #11 recruiting classes for 2015 and 2016 isn't good? Lol.
He has them moving forward, with at least top 15 talent, but they can only go 6-6 playing in the big 12. Meanwhile, O has lsu moving backwards? Lol

No one is answering the question because it's impossible to think you could spend 10 days saying giving excuses for Orgeron losing to a Sun Belt team while actually giving Texas recruiting rankings and having the nerve to type out "no excuses".
I guess I'm just nicer than everyone else and they wanted to see how far you would take it. I have some mercy I suppose.

Didn't the rankings of rosters that 247 did last year where they ranked us having the 6th most talented team in the nation only rate players actually on the roster?
I see so much about attrition and injuries posted in these excuse monger posts that I often laugh bc regardless of attrition, all the folks who get paid to evaluate talent say we're a top 10 team. So why are pounding our chests over a 9-4 record again??

Never even remotely said that.

Also never said that.
frick, man. You suck arse at this.

Not asking for mercy. I got the answer I thought I would get. Herman had a 2015 #10 ranked class, and a 2016 #11 ranked class, going into the 2017 season...and went 6-6. I wanted to see if excuses would be made. I got my answer.
I knew exactly what I was asking. For the record, Texas has all kinds of problems, and it will take him time, if he can even do it. I'm not sold on him, but nothing against him. All I cared about is no excuses...the talent is there. Y'all's motto.

Nah. I wanted to see y'all make excuses for Herman. After all, talent is there, no excuses.
Btw..since texas clearly had talent, what do you think held them back?

Herman made immediate improvement in on field results compared to what Texas had been doing prior to his arrival. That is a fact. They are also poised to make another step forward this year. That is an opinion, but one shared by many.

Hey dumbfrick...those rankings still count injured players...has zero to do with that. Seems you are confused.
I think I'll go beat my chest some more like all the others bragging about 9-4.

Herman is also well respected as a head coach.
Posted on 7/7/18 at 5:21 pm to MOT
So he took a #10 and #11 recruiting class and made significant strides to 6-6 in the big 12....AND....he is certainly moving them forward.
