We're already there. And it didn't take long.

So is it your contention then the Les Miles is a better coach than Nick Saban?
Never said that....just trying to understand why people continue to make excuses for Saban but bash Miles.

I don't care how new the coach is...UAB should never come into Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night and beat LSU.
This I agree with.

And you have proof they don't???
You're the one making assertions about the futures of PSU and Nick Saban. Since you know so much, it should be easy for you to provide some credible information to back it up.
I don't think you can, Duckie. I think you are full of shite on this one. Hell, you are full of shite in general.
quote:
Possible.
But if you are so sure PSU and Nick Saban are going to be together in the future, you wouldn't say that.
quote:
Not over Saban.
You've talked to PSU about this? I suggested they MIGHT. You are asserting that you know for sure they would want Saban over Schiano. You must know something we don't. All I am asking from you is to provide what you know from people at PSU you've talked to in great detail.
quote:
You are out of your league here
I'm asking you to back up what you claim to be true in the future and when you can't do that I'm the who is out of his league?
Duckie, you're not a smart guy.
quote:
Maybe you have Miles head so far up your arse that it has damaged your thought process.
Don't get mad at me because you can't back up what you say when asked to.

UAB, La Tech, ULM, Arkansas
One of these things is not like the other...one of these things just doesn't belong.

I agree where you are coming from. A loss to UAB should never happen but to be fair, it was Nick's first year with a program that had lost 8 games in a row the previous year and fired it's entire staff. Whenever that happens, your program has issues.
But, in general, knowing the state of the program when debating this stuff is important. Saban will always, right or wrong, be cut more slack for some of the losses early on because of the condition the program was in when he got here. There is a mindset that does exist by some on here that once Miles took over the program, it was now loaded with supreme athletes to the point where we should never lose a game, as if other folk in the SEC don't have premier athletes.
These same folk are the folk who don't like Miles and don't want him to succeed because it might change their opinion that Nick Saban is a football god. So, they set the bar extremely high with expectations that aren't realistic.
There is no doubt that Nick had a strong impact on our program that is measured deeper than just wins and losses. But, anyone who is against the success of LSU because they don't like the football coach is not an LSU fan. Either you are with us or against us. I'll be honest, it took me a while to embrace Miles but I finally came around after about 2 years. The past 2 years haven't been what we all like but the challenge now is to overtake Saban and Bama in the West. I'm ready for Miles Mania to become a force of nature and take the college football world by storm but we do have some serious question marks about this 2010 team.

Duckie, you're such a pussy. You sounded so confident just a little while ago now you are backing off what you say. Why? Because I have greater intellect than you and knew that questioning you would get you to back off a tad on your claims.

not necssarily..the defense was terrible...wouldn't put any pressure...wouldn't blitz..when they did was really predictable..Bo had a terrible gameplan for ark..
and let's not forget..they had 2 outstanding backs...so not like they were the UAB type

Miles is Hat!
He ain't all dat!
He struggles with managing/details/details/details!
I don't think he'll pass the scrutiny test.
He has gotten a pass, heretofore.
That time is passed.
Quite frankly, I think Hat would take the money and run. I really do.
LSU fans and higher upper folks (LOL) ain't losing THEIR focus on Hat.
He lost that mulligan. Like it or not, that is FACT!

This is where YOU are being STUPID. I WANT Miles to be great. But he is not. SABAN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.MILES all day long.

The bar was set HIGH by SABAN. If YOUR boy Miles can't handle it he needs to GTFO!!!!!

I love this!!! The Miles Apologists always have someone else to blame for the shortcomings of the LSU football program. It's never Les' fault. Let's rundown all of the scapegoats shall we? Mallory, Peveto, Perilloux, Crowton, Flynn for holding the ball too long, Jefferson for being too young, Lee for being too green, TigerDroppings.com for spreading negativity, the Alabama replay official for being corrupt, Peterson for getting hurt just when we were about to come back. I'm sure I'm leaving a few out.
I choose to blame the guy IN CHARGE. I guess this makes me a simple minded, dummy.
Who hired Crowton? Les did. Who is in charge of Crowton? Les is. Who is responsible for Crowton? Les is. Who do we blame for Crowton, again? Oh yeah, the administration!!! LOL. Too funny.
How do you distinguish scapegoats with valid excuses? Do you honestly think that the departures of Pelini and Perilloux had absolutely no effect on the team? Both of those moves have had extremely lasting impressions on the team that it won't be until THIS season that they can be compensated. Of course, now Miles has the order of achieving 10 wins in what will be his most treacherous out of conference schedule during his tenure (and the hardest I can recall in many years at LSU) while manuvering the gauntlet of the SEC.
The only positives I can see for Miles is that Florida will have a down year and that it initially appears that Alabama may be the same, though they lose precious little on offense.
9-3 (6-2) or 10-2 (7-1) this year would impress me provided we manage to rank in top 40 in both offense and defense and don't suffer any embarrassing losses.

I agree Les keeps his job for a while. It is gonna be interesting. I am thinking we keep beating the average teams and have one winning season after another. It is entirely possible to continue winning and never win another championship with Les. In my opinion I would rather win championships West and SEC. I know other people just want to win games. I just feel we have to actually beat at least 1 really good team next year. It's been 2 years since we beat a very good team.
