So why is it that Miles keeps two of the best coaches in the nation (Meyer and Saban) in very close games this season?
quote:coaches job to keep this from happening...
The team deflated after losing to Alabama
quote:i think you mean mailed it in.. but non the less it's the coaches job to keep that from happening...
They wrote it in against LA tech,

Don't get me wrong, Miles makes his mistakes
quote:he has had a good win / loss record.
but he has been the most succesful coach at LSU ever, just regarding record
quote:with big salary comes big expectations... you want to be judged like a middle tier coach then cut your salary to that of a middle tier coach..
I'm not sure why so many are so quick to hate??

you determine greatness in retrospect. To call a coach great who is still coaching (unless it's someone like Bobby Bowdon or Patrino who have a whole career behind them) great is retarded.

Les Miles, even if we lose 4 or 5 games this season, will NOT be fired...
LSU does not want to jeopardize the class of 2011, with all that great in-state talent, most of whom speak very, very highly of Miles, by firing him... his ability to recruit will at least buy him this season and at least part of next... once the class of 2011 is signed up and on campus and stuff, then LSU may think of canning him, but not before...
personally, i think he's a good (not great) coach who just needs to find his passion for the game that he once had... seems to have gotten very complacent after the NC in 2007, and since then has rested on his laurels, thinking he could do no wrong in the eyes of the Tiger Nation... well, he was wrong and I think he's "got" it, as far as the message that the fans and supporters are trying to send...

LSU also recruits itself.
No it doesn't.

See, I think you could look at the other way and say that that would be the best year to fire him. Most of those will probably come to LSU anyway. It'd be much worse to fire him in a year where most of his work was put into OOS recruits--then we'd be up shite creek. But I don't think protecting a recruiting class is gonna factor into the decision to keep or fire him. It's gonna be how he does. If we go 6-6 this year, he could have every 5* in the country committed, and his arse is still grass. I think 7-5 gets him fired too. 8-4 would be borderline. But I think we'll go 10-2 or 11-1 with a little luck.
