Yahtzee!!!! By the time Saban left all the better coaches found dancing partners, leaving us with the overweight girl with glasses.

that being said after 07 i think most of the fanbase was behind him. he had the national title, 3 great seasons, and the arrival of saban that galvanized the fanbase to get behind him. this of course is all opinion and we can go on day and night about whether or not majority of LSU fans truly backed him.

i think what has hurt him recently is how teams like bama, florida, and even ark and ole miss have upped the ante lately, while we have simply been treading water.

Probably true for many.

Just because folk acknowledge your worship of Saban and call you on it doesn't mean those same folk think Miles is the premier coach in college football. I've seen nobody argue that in their defense of Miles.

You are just uneducated and in need of being marginalized by society.

Is 9-3 an unacceptable season? Or is it only unacceptable when it trails another mediocre season?

I wonder if dukke was bitching about Saban when he was here. I just WANT TO see LSU FOOTBALL get back TO WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED to BE!!!!!!!!! got IT!!!! I bet he was calling for his head after he fricked up the Iowa game.

A 9-3 season is not unacceptable in my opinion as long as the team plays with a sense of purpose and discipline. They have just seemed so lost the last few years.

I agree with that I prefer 10+ win seasons though.

What does that mean? What does it look like? How do you define it?

I don't disagree, but I also don't think it's a coincidence we've had 2nd-year QBs those last 2 years either.

not a fan of this quote

ohio st won the rose bowl with a 2nd year qb this year
tebow won the heisman as a 2nd year qb
ou made it to the fiesta bowl with a 2nd year qb in 2007

and thats just off the top of my head

You have just listed 2 Heisman Trophy winners and 1st Round NFL draft picks(one of which was #1 overall) and the #1 overall recruit 3 years ago who is the Heisman front-runner this year. It takes very special players to lead teams to that kind of success so early. Clearly, neither JJ or JLee are that caliber.

If you want to criticize Les for not having recruited one of those guys, fine. I suppose that's fair. But the fact remains that it's hard to win with young QBs. Especially in the SEC. You listing the exceptions doesn't change that.

Nick Saban's 4 best teams(3 SEC champs/2 NCs, 1 SEC West winner):

2001--5th year SR Rohan Davey
2003--24-year-old JR Matt Mauck
2008--5th year SR John Parker Wilson
2009--4th year JR Greg McElroy

The only one who was not in at least his 4th year was the oldest of the bunch who had already spent a few years playing profesional baseball. You think that shite is a coincidence?
