That is some real bullshite.
Golden Boy, you hire an employee who passes all of his background checks and seems to have good character. One day, it is found out by the accounting department that he has actually embezzled $100,000 from the company. You fire him and take precautions that something like that will not happen again.
Then one day your boss comes to you and lowers your pay and disciplines you because you were the one who made the hire. He even uses these circumstances to question your own character and moral fiber. Is that fair or righteous?
Granted, the accounting department were the ones who found the problem and cleaned up the mess, but you should also get credit for cleaning it up. Afterall, if it is solely Les Miles' job to keep his program compliant, why would there be a compliance department in the first place??
