I for one don't want him fired or think he should be fired. But I also don't have a problem pointing out his shortcomings and head up arse moments.
This, don't fire Les, but placing a fire under his #ss wouldn't be a bad thing.

quote:well i think it should be reworded that Saban at Bama is the top combo at winning the NC. If he was at some other school i believe they would be similar to Oregon or ND or texas or OU where they are always near the top but doesnt have a conference office propping them up over others in the conference.
quote:
I wish people would stop comparing Miles to Saban. Saban is hands down the top coach at winning the NC. But if Saban were still coaching the Fins, Miles would have at least 1 more natty, probably 2. Saban aside, wins and big time wins since Miles was hired at LSU are far ahead of every other program/coach in college football. Quirky, time management, blah blah, THE MAN WINS. There is no one else period better at winning a ballgame than Miles except Saban. And Saban isn't going to ever coach us again so be glad we have the Hatter, because no one else is going to do better.
This is all the truth. But like it or not, as long as Saban is at Bama and they are in the SEC West, this is how it will be.

You just gave the Negatigers a loaded gun by verifying that Miles would rather lose a game, than make a change. Miles knew what he had in Flynn (blew out a top rated Miami team in the bowl game) yet left JR in until we lost the game. Probably cost us another BCS championship.
Hoooooly shite.
I hope this is an elaborate troll.

Miles inherited a 3 loss team from 2004 then went 11-1 with 1 bye because of katrina. Miles inherited a program that had lost less than 3 games TWICE since 1987.this notion that Miles inherited this top 5 program needs to die. Since 1986 lsu has 7 10 win seasons, 5 of those are miles' teams.
Your failure to see the big picture is astounding. You see no why, or how any of the above happened. It's like you see just the end result, and that's why you come to such ridiculous conclusions that Miles is the greatest LSU coach of all time.
Here is a fact. Watson Brown, former UAB Coach holds a 1-0 record vs. Nick Saban. Using your logic, he is obviously a better coach. Les Miles beat Chip Kelly straight up. I wonder why the Eagles didn't offer Les the Philly job when it opened up?
Strange.

have no idea how people can defend miles after 1/9 and this year.
Because people that actualy know and understand cfb know that losing in the NATIONAL TITLE GAME, isnt some huge mark against a resume. Knowledgeable fans know that losing over 3,000 yards of offense meant we were gonna struggle this year.its laughable that you lsu fans would rather have finished 3rd in the west than lose in the bcs title game

How many coaches can take a program that is successful and sustain that success....
WHOA... I agree with his FACTS... Miles has done a good job with what he cam into... Not saying its easy and I will NEVER discredit the good things Miles has done here... BUT The OP is talking about other shite that he left out... He has NO defense for it.... If he wants to stay here and get bashed that him.......... THIS team...with THIS talent should NOT have a REAL chance at 7-6...... Now I think they can beat A & M and win the Bowl... BUT does the team really care at this point??? THIS is Miles biggest test yet... He has a BIG problem... He has two qb's with confident issues 11 games into the season.. THAT IS A FACT..............

PJ speaks the truth. You delusional rookies need to take notes, now.

People are crazy. If LSU loses its because LEs mad the wrong decision.
Regardless that he was playing a QB who had one of the best years in LSU history and was a first round draft pick .

I think I see the big picture just fine. I'm fully capable of forming my own opinions from what I've seen through the years.

No one was talking JR up, until after the Notre Dame game, so pulling him in order to win either game was not unthinkable

.No power5 program has more wins than lsu. 2.no program has been ranked in the top 25 more weeks than lsu. 3.no program in cfb has beaten more ranked teams. 4. No sec team has more sec titles 5. No sec west team has more west titles. 6.no program in all of cfb has more ooc wins. He has done all these great things during the most successful era of sec football, EVER. A Les Miles team has destroyed Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami ( when they were a good top 10 team), Va Tech, West Va ( twice), Oregon, TCU, and Washington. These are facts. You have the right to your opinions, but not the right to your own facts. The facts are that no era of lsu football has been more successful than the Les Miles era. Deal with it. Im proud to call him our coach even during our worst season in 5-6 years. P.S. all these great accomplishments on the field while sporting the 2nd highest grad rate in the sec.
You are 100% correct he has been a great coach but this is what I posted in another thread.
"In six years an SEC championship!? Is that were we are now? Are we ok to win once every 6 years and play Bama close or to overtime? For me I think it's a joke with the talent we have in La and that has passed though LSU since then. To me it unacceptable! Should we just hang on to Miles because "who else are we gonna get" sunshine pumpers?
I like the man just as much as anyone else and would have no problem at all with my son playing for him. But this is getting to the point that we are just hanging on like a bad relationship because we are scared of change and hoping it will get better.
IMO his window is closing fast, if he don't win a MNC with this team in the next 2 years or has another season like this next year, I believe he will be gone."

Excellent revisionist history you've got working here. Keep it coming. Did we actually lose three games in 2007? Did 2011 never happen? What else don't I know? DO I EXIST BY THE STANDARDS OF NATURAL SCIENCE OR IS MY EXISTENCE BASED ON MY OWN CONSCIOUSNESS!?!?!

Yea and somehow Miles lost 3 games with NFL talent at the skill positions on offense. And these werent practice squad or bench players. These guys are all playing and playing well
