yeah how dare we old cops to a higher standard than thugs or gang members.
law abiding americans shouldnt fear getting pulled over by a cop for a simple traffic stop.
saw a YouTube video of a black guy that was pulled over for not using a blinker( thats what the cop said after the situation was difused) and the cop came to the window with his gun drawn and pointed at the driver.
im of the opinion that 90% of the cops are not racist, they are just horribly trained. in some states it take more training to be a barber than to become a cop.

My kids won't do that because I instill high character values and respect.

This the ONLY time kneeling for the flag is appropriate. 15 years of service. This is disrespectful. You want to protest the police fine, turn your back on the cops. Want to protest equality, great get out there and do something about it. “Be the change you want to see in this world”. Don’t disrespect the brothers I lost fighting under that flag or the men who came before me.

It's a shame you don't try using some of those high character values and showing some respect to your fellow posters here on the rant.

I'm sure you do. And I honestly mean that. I haven't seen any of that from you, but I do believe your statement.

How dare he take an knee and not break something instead to get the message across. The hate in this thread is the very reason that his bravery to kneel is justified. Does the anthem make me proud to live in America? Yes. But if it all it takes to get a message out is to kneel while the song is playing? So be it. Instead calling them out their names, convince one of your racist friends to love every American, even minorities. That would make America great

I can't understand (and not sure most of the players do) what the whole kneeling thing is supposed to accomplish. Most players are playing in front of middle class America (first responders, veterans, factory workers, etc) not 60-80,000 millionaires.
The guys paying to watch the product are more people who will never to relate to them turning their back on the flag, or get anything other than a negative meaning from a stance such as that. If you have a real message to deliver, this is not the forum, nor the market to reach, and for the most part they will not sympathize with your stance (even if it MAY have any validity).
None of it will accomplish anything positive, If they want to make a point, get involved in the black community and put their money to work helping families without father figures, upgrading schools, helping fight teen pregnancy, not disrespect veterans and the flag.
End of commentary.

they arent insulting services members. its has nothing to do with the military. you amd you ilk are just making it about the military so you can sit on your high horse.
This.
They are protesting certain aspects about the country. They are not up there saying "our military sucks" or bashing military people in any way.
I understand that people have pride in their country. That's fine. I also understand why some people are upset with certain aspects of the country. I understand that this is their way of showing that they are not happy with those aspects of the country. I also understand that it is their right to protest peacefully (yes, there can be repercussions from this and I'm sure they fully accept that just as the people involved in The American Revolution knew their would be repercussions from their actions). They are not out causing anyone any harm in their protest therefore whether or not someone else agree with it is irrelevant. The person that doesn't agree with it can simply stop associating with the individuals participating.
It really is just that simple.
I don't agree with a lot of things. Religion being a major one. But I'm not going to tell others they can't be religious. (I might call you ignorant if you believe that earth is only 6000 years old though). And you can call these players whatever you want. You just don't have the right to demand that they be made to stop.
