re: Kinda impressed with WV, especially at the plate

Just wanted to clear up some things from a WVU fan. Our bullpen does not suck. What happened was, the team went into a funk the last 10 games or so of the season. Blew a 5 run lead against pitt, blew a lead against Marshall and another one against KSU. Easy wins that probably would have gotten us to host a regional with a 47-11 record instead of 44-14.

What happened was we started making the mistakes that everyone against us was making all season long (hitting batters, walking, sloppy fielding). They lost focus or something but our bullpen was coming in and nailing things down for most of the season.

I thought Randy Mazey had a quick hook but Sabins yanks pitchers even faster. Sabins is a rookie coach but he's been with the program for more than a dozen years I think. No one likes the moves he made down 3-1 and it looks to be a rookie move instead of bringing in at least one experienced reliever to see how things would go.

But this team can hit. It's one of the best hitting teams from WVU I've ever seen. Kartsonas is a bulldog. If he doesn't pull a Kirn tonight, it's going to be a tough game.
