Because she broke said foreign government’s law at a time that country is actively in a war.

Because she is fallible and imperfect like the rest of us.
Because maybe she is scarred from all the torment, stress, and pain of an estranged relationship with one of the most talented players she has ever coached. Maybe her response is influenced by the visceral reaction to the glaring philosophical differences between them.
Because maybe she believes she has earned the right to choose which questions she answers in detail or declines in a press conference format. Maybe BG questions have been off limits and the reporter chose not to comply.
Because maybe she chooses to be an authentic person and did not want to make an ingenuousness comment, therefore she chose to decline the question in a manner that would eliminate further questions on the topic.
Regardless of the "why", I believe she is allowed to answer questions in the manner she sees fit and be accountable for those answers.
Lastly, why no high moral judgment and criticism for the reporter? Why not hold your opinion of him to a higher standard? Why shouldn't he be expected to be gracious? I believe it is transparently clear that his question was not asked with innocent, genuine curiosity.
