you might be right

The "negative recruiting" is that Jenkins is likely to not remain on staff the entire time kids are at LSU

Karl is right, by the way

He is doing his job.

Geaux Karl. Forever LSU

He crossed a line that can't be uncrossed.

That's called doing his job.

Great Tiger who bleeds purple and gold but color of money unfortunately is crimson right now. And for all you losers crushing Dunbar for earning a living for his family is proof of your stupidity.

These two statements are mutually exclusive.

I certainly have nothing against him for doing his job and earning a living. That said I cannot emphasize enough that I hope he fails at said job at least until he's working for a different employer.

I would hope he could sell the kids he is recruiting on the positives at Alabama. I don't believe it's his job to tell recruits negative things about LSU.

Also, people are saying he will be at LSU after Pete leaves. So, if this happens Mathis will only play for him one season.

That's not how that works. Even if he were to transfer, he'd have to go Juco for a year if he wanted to enroll at LSU. Bama would never allow a scholarship player to transfer to an SEC school not named Mizzou.

meh

Dunbar is a decent coach. He's not the best out there.

Negative recruiting exists. I'm sure LSU engages in it to some degree. But, there are things that cross the line. And, if you are a guy who looks up to a mentor enough to express to others how much you respect him...you don't go negatively recruiting against him based on his age.

It would be equivalent to someone who claims to respect Dunbar negatively recruiting against him based on his skin condition.

It's just over a line. And, you don't get to claim family when you do that.

My opinion doesn't matter. But, the reaction from the staff when the news came out was pretty telling, IMO.

I wasn't clear. I meant that if Dunbar comes here then Mathis would only play under Dunbar as his DL coach one year. Mathis would still be at Bama and Dunbar would be here.

Obviously, I don't know if Dunbar will be LSU's DL coach after Jenkins but that's what others are suggesting.

Did you notice the staff's reaction when it became public what was being said about Jenkins?

Compare the loyalty and honor that Orgeron gives Jenkins to what Dunbar did. I don't see it happening under this staff.

Yes , I did notice that. I believe what he did could cause him to not be contacted for the DL coach once Pete finishes after next season. I have an issue with what Dunbar told Mathis to get him to Bama.

Bama has a ton to sell their recruits. I don't see why they didn't take the high road. I believe there is a right way and wrong way to do things. Unfortunately, Bama choose to engage in negative recruiting.
