From a team building perspective, I agree. You’ll need some of each to do various things. But from an individual player’s standpoint, you have just as much to gain regardless of height, if not more.

For college baseball one of my son’s was listed at 5’10” and was really 5’8”. It’s basically like this almost everywhere except in wrestling where height/weight must be accurate.
