Agreed. Skylar is my favorite tiger of any sport but he's not NBA caliber and he's more than smart enough to know this. No reason not to come back improve and see where the chips fall next summer. He can play professional ball somewhere, just not NBA ball come this fall. He's gonna come back, and be even better though, this 2019-2020 team could be sweet 16 bound or better. Just glad we got our coach back. Everything else will take care of itself

Sky told me himself of his true intentions.

Can’t wait to see him play for the tigers next year. One of the best leaders on/off the court in LSU history

Skylar will probably be back next year. But if he has the kind of jump this offseason like had the past two offseasons then I am not willing to just outright say he will never be in the nba. He is smart, can shoot, and even seems to be much more athletic than when he came in. Without question he could play ball overseas professionally, but I would imagine him a doctor as opposed to that.

I love how people think Skylar can just decide to become a doctor. His odds of getting a 10 day contract in the NBA probably aren’t much different. He has to get into medschool. Yes I understand he has a 4.0 but no one knows what his test scores are. He has the pass med school, pass board exams, finish residency, pass more board exams. And all of that takes like 10 years.

It’s not as easy as just saying he wants to be a doctor.

So thinking about those odds vs his NBA odds might not be as far off as everyone thinks

If he wants to be a doctor he will. He has the genes. He has the grades. He has the work ethic. And he even has the parents that can back him if need be. Kid is rocking a 4.0 right now pre med while starting on an SEC champion basketball team. Skylar will be fine when its all said and done no matter what he ends up doing.

You don’t know enough about him to say that with confidence. I’m not saying he can’t, I’m just saying it’s about as sure a bet as his NBA chances.

He’s also getting a lot of assistance from tutors, etc. that he won’t have. And it takes a lot more than a GPA to get into medical school.

Literally the only thing you know about him is that he plays basketball for LSU and has a 4.0 GPA

Well the fact his parent is a doctor also helps his cause. He would have the financial backing, and the experience mentor from someone who has been through med school and real world situations.

It helps. But nothing anyone here has said makes him a doctor tomorrow.

He can try to become a doctor just like he can try to make it in the NBA.

How anyone hear can say they know he can’t make it in the NBA but he can just turn around tomorrow and decide to be a doctor is silly.

He has improved every year he has been here. If he continues he could certainly get a contract. People here have said the same bullshite about countless LSU basketball players and they are usually wrong.

Smart and Emmitt will be one of the top 1-2 punches in the SEC next season. My predictions - Smart 21ppg 4 assists per game and Emmitt 15ppg 9 rebounds per game.

Actually, I know the entire family from U-High, and Sky doesn't use or need any tutors or outside "help" with the academics, he's a highly intelligent young man. Don't speak of things that you clearly know nothing!

I get all that. Skyler is not going to be even invited to the combine. So he has to come back. Or try for Europe or China. I do not even think he is a G league guy.

He is a minority student athlete with a 4.0 GPA who has never been in any kind of trouble.

If he wants in LSU med school, he will be in. Whether he has success after getting in, that's on him. But unless he has been caught sendig dick picks to grandmas then it's not really in doubt. Don't know what reality you're living in.

Simply means they were approachable and friendly. Its always nice when the the team you root for is not only quality as far as the product on the floor, but also quality in terms of the people who don the purple and gold.

Don’t need the urban dictionary for that one. If you're old you're old man just accept it.
