With the way his dad talked about guys opting out this year I doubt he opts out.

His Dad is routinely on OTB. I don't remember him criticizing anyones decision.
He said, all families have different needs. If a player can make millions, and his family is poor, why should I criticize their decision.

Yeah I didn’t think he specifically criticized those guys. At the same time, Stingley’s family situation is a lot different than some of those other players and his dad doesn’t really hesitate to talk about areas where Derek Jr. needs to improve.

I don’t think Stingley opts out, for the same reason that I don’t think he plays both ways next year - his dad wants him to be a great NFL corner and likely recognizes that he didn’t get a normal year’s worth of improvement this year between Pelini’s defense and injuries. But that’s just me reading the tea leaves.

The kid missed 3 games this year and y’all are saying he’s “made of glass.”

He was injured twice, and sucked most of the season. Everyone talks about him like he’s the messiah. If he weren’t such an incredible talent, he wouldn’t be a bust.
