Would you be ok with a lifetime ban for any player who breaks any NCAA rule as long as it serves as a deterrent?

Short of going to prison, I can’t think of anything a player could do that should warrant a 2 year suspension. You don’t have to make the penalty two years to have a rule serve as a deterrent.

From what I've read it's better to just get busted smoking it in a car with weapons inside it. Better to fail the test all together and you'll be on the field without a hiccup.
