Speaking in present tense again. JJ hasn't done anything presently. Are you comparing this team to last and trying to make some kind of valid point? I think you are. You should be more intelligent than this.

JJ is doing nothing, presently.

If you revisit this in a couple of months using this years stats it may make more sense.
You strive so mightily to stay perched on the fence. Yet, I know differently.

So now no comparison is possible, is that it? Can we not consider the variables at all and weigh the differences?

Let us follow your logic: How can we possibly compare stats from different months? The players may be different. Even if they are the same, they may have different injuries.

You're losing touch with reality. You're starting to fall off your fence. Your "objectivity" is a facade.

The offense still sucked under Crowton. It has vastly impoved on a number of fronts.

The offense wasn't bad in '07, '08. Running game sucked in '08. It really doesn't have anything to do with the present.

Crowton is gone and the new offense is fairly conservative. I do think the QB position is more important this year than last however. I think you could have put Shep or Ware under center last year and have had the same results. Not knocking Lee or JJ.

I don't think Shrubber is stupid. He is, however, full of shite.

Of course comparisons can be made. Comparisons are made all of the time. One must consider and weigh the differences, but that does not mean that the comparison is invalid.

We will just have to agree to disagree, but I stand by what I said about A&M having a shitty offense until Tanneyhill took up.

And I also stand by my point that Arkansas had a mediocre defense.

Agree to disagree.

I think you're thinking of '09. Running game was okay in 2008. Running game was horrid in 2009.

Yeah, I am not the one speaking in present tense, about last years offense.

Unlike yourself, I can be objective. I was the one championing the return of JJ long before most, and predicted reduced charges and a rather quick return. I don't have to put down anyone to lift anther up. Unlike yourself. I just don't see anything these two QB's did last year as worth championing. Unless or course, you cherry pick your data. Like you do.

Frankly, I would be ready for the next era of QB's but I know damn well we will have Mettenberger vs Randall arguments next year.

And another thing..you are far from objective. You have been in JJ's camp since day one.

So please don't pretend that you are using unbiased logic in this thread.

The biggest knock on it is the fact that he has to constantly "remind" every one of it.

How about we agree that I have stats to back my opinion up and you yanked your opinion out of thin air.

#39 isn't mediocre.

And, FYI, when you only account for games against ranked teams last year, Arkansas' defense was ranked higher than LSU's (#26 to #28)

You simply don't know what you're talking about.

But whatever. IF you NEED a message board win, I will give you one. Congrats.

Well, according to the numbers, I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Unless you think that the books were cooked and the people who compile statistics from college football games simply added extra yardage to Texas A&M and all of Arkansas' opponents.

what are you guys even arguing here? You're all just throwing out stats and opinions, but nobody is really making any point.

Jefferson played much better towards the end of the season than he did the beginning last year. Lee is playing amazing football right now.

Let's just keep it at that and hope our boys keep winning games. Nothing written on here is going to impact the game.

BigBoy - hit me up... I'm heading down for the UK game. You going to be in town?

Unfortunately I won't. I'll actually be at the Purdue ND game. But I'll definitely hit you up.

I knew the board would explode today and I wanted to jump in the frey.

not bad. Really enjoying this season so far. Reminds me a little of 2003... only without the roadtrips to every game.

Speaking of how stats can be manipulated...I love how Jefferson's rushing TD stat is manipulated by Miles shoving him into the game on drives he had no part in when it gets to 1st and Goal. So he rushes 2yds for a score and makes his boxscore bottom line look great.

(See: BOTH of his rushing TD's in the sorry performance he had at UF last year).

And another attempt at it vs. TENN. Oh I guess that one didn't work out too well for him (but who can expect a Junior, starting QB to get off more than one play in 32 seconds. I mean, Lee only ran 4 or 5 plays in less than a minute before that play).

2003 - Better coached defense

2011 - Much better athletes

But that's just my opinion.

yep. sitting atop my perch looking out over the national mall as i type this. the monuments always look nice as the sun sets.

2003 may have been better coached, although I'm not so sure... Offenses have evolved since then. I don't think we played any teams in 2003 with the crazy spreads like we have so far this season. Playing against the Oregons and WVUs is where you have to play assignment football (especially Oregon), and they've done pretty good so far.

Both defenses are certainly impressive (i'm trying not to be biased in favor of '03 just cause i was friends with them).
