Here is the deal with Lee and it is very apparent, I believe. HE IS SCARED OF CONTACT. You cannot be a football player, even a QB and be scared to get hit. I really believe it is that simple and that it flows into every other aspect of his game. It affects his mental state while in the game and thus his decision making ability.

Have you seen Peyton Manning? He literally goes into the fetal position when any defender is near him. No QB wants contact. Not trying to be a Lee supporter or a Jefferson hater but this has no bearing on Lee's play IMO.

The problem is, like you mentioned, he isn't being developed because we don't have a QB coach anymore. When pressure comes near him, it's not that he freaks out or gets scared of it. He'll stand in there with the best of them (see his TD throw against Auburn two years ago). The problem is he doesn't have consistent, repeatable mechanics so when he's under duress they leave him and his accuracy decreases.

It's the same with Jefferson but he hides it by just taking 3948573 sacks a game.

I once said on here prior to last season that JJ will be more akin to Marcus Randall

Marcus Randle would be a welcome site right about now.

I think there is truth to that...however, Peyton is not scared, he is trying to preserve his multi-million dollar body. I honestly think Lee is scared before he steps on the field and it flows through every part of his game. The 2008 Ole Miss game is illustrative of that fact I believe.

However, you and I can both agree about one thing, our QBs are not being developed.

That lack of developement will from this point forward prevent LSU from being an elite team (and will likewise probably prevent us from landing an elite QB prospect).

Yup, and the scariest part is we're more loaded this year than we have been in a long time. Gonna be painful watching all that go to waste, just hope it doesn't cost us in recruiting this year.
