Why do your "If's" work against JJ but for JL?
Tell me which you prefer?
20 - 30 for 300 yards, 2 td's and 3 ints plus -30s rushing
-or-
17-30 for 240 yards, 2 tds and 0 ints plus 60 yards rushing
It is amazing all the excuses made for JL and the much higher standard JJ is being held to by some. (You know who you are) All I recall is when I watched games at a local bar, when JL dropped back to pass there was a collective moan and holding of breaths. That is not true with JJ. Sure he has some improvement to make. After all he is a very young QB with very little experience. Sort of like JL was last year. Yet he does the most important thing. He protects the ball. He does not panic and throw it up for grab.
The value of ball security cannot be overestimated. There are many experts who feel turnover margin is the greatest predictor of wins and losses. Not the length of passes. Yet there are those who, when arguing which QB should play, claim that down field passing is more important than not turning the over. What happened to the QB manager arguments of recent vintage. You know the one about having a cannon was not as important as being a good manager.
Considering his experience JJ has done a good job up to this point. He has not hurt the team nor helped the opponents. That is something to build upon.
Looking at both QB's body of work up to this point, it seems moronic to argue JJ should be replaced by JL. That or the argument is based on something other than what has been shown on the field of play.

Last year all we kept doing was complaining about how the coaches were putting players in position to fail. We blamed Crowton for making JL throw throws he wasnt ready to throw! DO you want that to happen again? Crowton is looking back at last year and is doing exactly what we wanted him to do last year. We are playing a safer more possesion passing game. I mean he is slowly getting Jefferson in, growing him, and as Jefferson grows so will the offense. Give it time, the kid has started all of 4 games. His time will come and what we are doing now will help him later in the season. He is mistake free and has us alive at 2-0.

Waite the 2 teams we've played are very good.
washington may beat USC and Vandy could finish 2nd in the east.
JJ had a good first game and was hampered by rain in 2nd game.

The Vandy we played had a great shot at finishing second in the east but I think the loss of their offensive lineman last night will know their chances of a second place finish way down. I will be pulling for them though.

BTW, the 2 NC's we have were with QB's that could manage the game and not turnover the ball.

And LSU might win the NC this year.

"Ill say it,.. I wish they would give JL another shot.
If he's learned form last yrs mistakes... boom.
If not, JJ is right there.
To me it just doestn seem that we have an identity on offense.
Fuking gimmiky.
We have 5 wides NUMEROUS times during the game and we have trouble commpleting passes that over 8 yrds.
FWIW, Recievers so far have made JJ look better than JJ has made himself look."
You have lost your mind! JJ is a football player and a winner. He has not thrown a interception and has beaten two teams who will both have winning records this year. Do you remember watching JL last year? It was painful! JL is not a game time football player. He looks awesome in practice because his mechanics are great but great mechanics doesn't mean shite. As far as statistics go, Ben Roethlisberger's stats look like crap but he is a game time quarterback who leads his team to wins.

After reading all of this, a few thoughts:
1) We won't win the big games without a vertical passing attack.
2) We won't win the big games if our quarterback turns the ball over repeatedly.
3) If JJ starts throwing the ball furthur up field, he is going to throw interceptions occasionally.
4) We'll probably score more points, and give up more points, with JL in. We'll have more games like yesterday with JJ in.
5) If we get behind by two touchdowns, JL may be our best hope to score points quickly. I'm not sure JJ could do this at this point in his development. With a one touchdown lead, JJ all day, and I don't want to even see JL near the clipboard.
