He sucked at best. He completed 1 pass for 5 yards. His running ability was below average.

What game were you watching? He had a good pass dropped. And he would have been able to run for the very needed 1st down against Alabama where bonehead pulled up and threw it out of bounds.

I don't find that unrealistic, but I understand your take on the speed of the game. I'd understand if it was still the beginning of the season. I'd understand if it was against quality teams, but it's happening 10 games into the season and against both weak and strong competition.

These aren't speed of the game issues. If he was under pressure on most of his bad plays, I'd agree, but he's thrown most of his horrible passes without any pressure on him because the OL is blocking so well.

No one expected a Colt McCoy type Freshman Year, but we also didn't expect him to not improve from game 1 to game 10.

I think he is showing baby steps in some areas. And we also aren't in on film sessions or some of the drills in practice, so it is tough to evaluate as a whole his progression. I love his moxie though.

Yeah, I was one of the 25K who stayed til the end. Jared Mitchell dropped one pass for a 1st down, I'll give you that. All the other passes skipped to the receiver except for one that was thrown to Tolliver, except it was 3 feet behind Tolliver.

I didn't think the blocking was that great last night...

1) Again...of the five passes JJ threw, he completed one and three weren't even REMOTELY close to receivers.

2) Why call JL a bonehead? The kid is 19 and he is learning. He is learning through the school of hard knocks. He is going to make mistakes. I'd like to see you get behind center against a defense like Bama's.

Dude...of his 5 throws, one was complete and three were not even in the same zip code as the receiver...I'm not quite sure what you were watching.

Well Dude none of that gave any points to the opposing team

So my argument that no one could be worse than JL is wrong

That is scary Of course getting to watch JR and to a certain extent MF may have spoiled a few of us.

The OL didn't do anyone any favors last night until the 4th quarter. It is hard, however, to block 9 guys with 7. Why is it that Lee can't audible to a pass play when we have 3 receivers out there and they put 9 in the box. Is that Lee (probably) or does Crowton tell him no?

I love when people on this board equate JL's interceptions to INTs returned for TD as if the action of JL throwing the INT led to the touchdown.

With the exception of about two of those pick 6s, the rest were purely serendipitous and a function of luck.

2004 wasn't exactly fun to watch from a QB perspective...Saban basically pulled the plug on the passing game over the last 2-3 games

So now it goes from 2-3 should've been stopped out of 7 to only 2 weren't based on luck? Come on BigBoy, keep your argument consistent.

Anyone claiming that JJ didn't give points to Troy is stupid. Completely different circumstances and his passes were pretty far short that playing bad coverage was the only way to make the pick.

Lee played well in the second half, but still was lucky to have 4 INTS dropped during the 37 point comeback.

The OL passed block great last night, but run blocking was horrible. Mainly because they just ran 9 into the box. Lee had plenty of time. So did JJ.

What I mean by luck is largely the return of the interception, arse. Not the interception itself.

I know that Lee's play has been inconsistent. Everybody knows that. But you need to have a full understanding of the game, which you don't, to fully appreciate the situation, which is unique to almost any other situation in the country.

Once you accept this, then you'll understand why Lee has his struggles, but why he will ultimately be a very, very, very good quarterback for LSU.

With all due respect, I haven't the slightly idea what game you were watching last night.

When has a defending national champion, in the SEC no less, opened the season with a redshirt freshman starting at quarterback?

That is what I was referring to.
